I have downloaded an updated .bin file however file is not being recognized.
Flash drive has been formatted clean (even non quick route) and is FAT32 and still an issue. Any ideas? |

Is there a USB input in the glove box? I know in my X5M I had to plug it in there to perform an update. The center console USB was strictly for charging and media for some reason...

An update.
My original flash drive was 1gb so I wanted to see if using a lower capacity drive would work. I vaguely recall from my computing days that this may be an issue. Installed the bin file on a 256 and 512 mg drive and this time instead of the message that the media is not recognized, i received a 'searching' message. Unfortunately this is as far as it goes even after several minutes. Then the original message pops back up. I think I will give up. May be I have the updated file already installed. The download file was labeled UPD09042.bin and according to the pdf file the update files are:
TB 001.062.032 MB 001.062.040 HB 001.062.032 My car currently has: TB 006.032.012 MB 006.032.012 So the update also failed. Almaretto's comment makes sense to me.

Uhmmm, my car is twice as loud as before and now my pops sound like gun shots... Steering in sport+ is much stiffer than before, regular sport now feels like the sport+ before software update and the car is very sensitive in sport+ throttle just going from stop sign/light... |
