If you ordered your vehicle with the Executive Package (PDC, rear view camera, HUD etc.), note that both of the performance steering wheels are not heated and you will lose this functionality.

Alcantara has been used in BMWs for a long time. Used in areas that get touched or sat on it tends to degrade much more quickly than leather.

I have a friend that put the M Performance Wheel on his M2, but says that he'll never touch it because he's had Alcantara in the past and knows that the sweat and natural oils from his palms will degrade it. He now always wears driving gloves when he drives his M2 to preserve the Alcantara. Seriously, true story. Something to think about for the longer term.

The Alcantara is very durable I had that on my Shelby GT 350 steering wheel and loved it.
