2025 M5 update

Anyone heard much about the new m5? Is there any kind of predict projection on when it will be arriving? I’m trying to decide if I want to get an X5M, an M8 GC or wait for the new M5. If anyone has any thoughts on how those compare, I would appreciate that as well. Thanks

There should be an official release soon. Production is supposed to start near the end of July 2024.

Its going to be way different than the M8. You’ll know quickly which one appeals to you.

With the added weight and dubious long-term reliability because of the overly complex powertrain, BMW should change their slogan to: "The Ultimate Leasing Machine".

Although based on a lot of what I see on this forum the M5 is already in that category

I like it as well. I'll be getting one in 2027. Keep this one for a few more years, it's just too good to give up.

Agreed, and I'm in the same boat. Got one at the end of 2019 and it was amazing, but there was very little aftermarket support for it early on. Getting into a 2023 was nice because now there's much more aftermarket support and most of the bugs have been worked out.

Can't help but think there could be some significant issues on the earlier G90s with switching to a hybrid system.

I had never seen the appeal of wagons until I got older and now have kids. I am eager awaiting the G99 to see if I can convince my wife to replace her XC90 with it.. and if it’s worth it of course. It’s like double the price though, so maybe not worth it.. tbd !

The license plate makes it look like an open mouth with buck teeth. Wascally wabbit.

And once you learn how BMW corporate ties the hands of the techs/service departments in their dealerships; you will truly be a lease only BMW person. This will undoubtedly be my first and last BMW based on what I've learned over the past year of ownership!! BMW corporate wants you to jump from lease to lease, and they truly do not care about their cars and their long term reliability, shown by their recommendation of 10k mile oil changes(among so much else!!).
