That sounds terrible. Sounds like the spring they chose to keep the valve closed is kinda weak and has the valve flap around at 4:17-4:28.

Was wondering what that sound was.

Not a fan of that sound based on the clip. The pops/burbles…or whatever they call them are a bit much. BMW needs to listen to a 5.5 AMG v8 exhaust or even better, a v8 mustang…both make a glorious sound. Of course, just my opinion.

I've got a gt350, now that is an amazing sound!!!! My m4 with catless downpipes and The awe track exhaust is ridiculously loud, but sound is poor compared to any v8

My m5cs is on its way, I am considering ordering the m performance titanium exhaust, I'm assuming it would sound very close to any F90 m5 with that setup? Any thoughts? For reference on what I'm looking to get from a sound perspective, I've got a f82 m4 with castles downpipes and the AWE track exhaust…it is almost to loud to drive, so not looking for something like that, but do enjoy a relatively loud car.

This, like the m4, will not be a daily driver so a little on the loud side won't bother me.

I know this has been discussed sporadically in different threads so please don't hit me with the "use the search function…"

Still looking around, as I've got plenty of time until the car is here. Already leaning towards Mperformance, or Fi exhaust (has the valves if that's your thing). Akra also has valves, honestly speaking though, all the videos I've watched still undecided since it all sounds quite similar (might be tone deaf) and in-person is always going to be different.

Seeing lowest online prices of:

Fi: 4560
MPE:5895
Akra:7439

Found the RI-D 20in on a blue f90 preLCI car, tried my ghetto 'shop best to see how it would look on DFG. Really digging it! other than the darker gold getting released, this could work.

Offsets aren't aggressive, and the wheels would swap right out with the factory gold ones.

Fronts would be 18.9 lbs, rear 19.8. And specifically made for the M5. Losing around 10 lbs per corner would be amazing!

iPE cat-back is an often overlooked option on this platform so I figured I would throw it out there … I have this on my current 19' M5C and it is every bit as good as advertised. The F1 tech really gives a great hollow sound with zero drone. It's valved as well and great for folks like myself who drive in Sport + 99% of the time .. simple press of button quiets it w/o exiting Sport +.

CF tips are also very nice.

Which is why I went with the M5 Comp and not the CS. I've got other cars for track and road fun.

Then the M5CS really isn't the car for you. Yeah, you will miss out on some of the driving characteristics, but you have a pretty significant list of things that you feel are missing. You can probably get a M5 Comp tuned/modified to drive exactly like the CS at some point. Just have to wait for the vendors to get the products to market.
If they had 1 and 5 - I would have gotten it. It's an incredible car. One of the best. I just wish they kept it more of an executive sports sedan rather than trying to appease the club racer crowd.

Well, if it had 1-5 then it would be the M5 Comp.

It's a CS model. It isn't supposed to be an executive autobahn cruiser. That's why it's being produced in such low production numbers. BMW knew it wouldn't appeal to everyone.

But you didn't get it. We got it. And the world moves on.

It's okay if it doesn't have what you want. You just don't end up buying it, leave that to us. And if we end up regretting our purchase we'll just sell the CS for more than what we paid for and buy a comp with some leftover cash easy peasy.

Doesn't come with the creature comforts bc it doesn't have to, even if the experience on paper is marginal to some, the reviews from forum members/car "journalists" say otherwise, and it's going to be fun owning one different from the crowd, I for one will have plenty of time throwing it around in the mountain roads near where I live!

Can't believe we're still on "it doesn't comfort my ass and ears enough so I didn't buy it" discussion. Isn't this the CS owners thread? Different strokes: your stroke is a comp, my stroke is a CS.

I don't really care about B&W, regular seats, or driving another black car. I'll get that with the next gen m5 when I'm done with this thing. I wanna drive the piss out of it, check out that matte green paint in the sun, see them yellow halos, and know that there's only 390 or some odd other ones around in the country that might be having the same enjoyment.

Admittedly, I would have preferred a combo of track seats, bowers Wilkins and 3D camera system to go with the extra power and refined suspension.

In fact it would have been nice to have some configurability to create a bespoke limited production car. Why not make it truly 1 of 1…

Don't forget about the real dealbreaker…. The unusable center console. Lol

I find that to be the most amusing reason when people say they didn't (or wouldn't) get the CS

In the end, I don't really care what this car's missing. It's a strong buy if:
A) you appreciate what BMW M used to stand for
B) you're enamored by luxury sports sedans
C) you're sensitive to how a car drives

I don't disagree... but no car is free of criticisms. I think the M5 CS is the best car BMW has made in ages. Doesn't mean I can't point out issues.

I think you're misreading what I'm saying. The CS is the best BMW that's been made. Due to a good relationship to a dealer owner, I could have gotten the car at some point. It just didn't fit me for the reasons above. The best cars all have points of criticisms. I have things I don't like about my cars even though I still think they represent the best of their breed for that era.

On the issue of value. There are rare cars that increase in value over time. That said, I really don't care. My cars are worth $0 when I buy them. That way, I just enjoy them, modify them, etc. We will see where the M5 CS value will be. It's great now, but this is an odd time in our history and every used car value is high.

Question to owners of a cs, my dealer is telling me the cs comes with the titanium m performance muffler, is this accurate? I want to say that is incorrect from what everyone has said, but figured I would ask. Thanks!!

Ask your dealer for the part number. Lol

If it's supposed to come with it a bunch of us are owed a new exhaust.
