You can have a 7 year warranty for $600 by taking advantage of Geico’s mechanical breakdown coverage. I ordered & purchased mine for $125k out the door with included maintenance for 6 years and plan to keep it 6 years or so and then sell it for around $40k in great condition. That comes out to $1180/month under those circumstances. It really depends on how badly you will want something else in 3 years or 6?
It is not true that you have nothing. Leasing is just another form of financing. You can certainly buy the car at any point all the way to the end at a predetermined amount. Can even sell it at any time. Beyond tax benefits for many, leasing is also insurance that you are not stuck with something you don't want.

Looking for input:
Purchased new X5 from dealer an hour away and later put in an order for a new M5 with the plan to wait on numbers until the car came in. The M5 is now in and my dealer sent me the below deal.

MSRP: $109,995
Discount: $5,500
Rebate: $3,000
Up Front Fees: $2,100
Terms: 36 months / 10,000 miles
Payment: $1,554
Dealer is also willing to take my M3 4 months early ($970 monthly) and throw in $1,000 for my M3's old winter wheels/tires.

Anything else you guys need to evaluate?

Thanks

Bit late to the game, but after doing my European Delivery, putting down 5,000 miles in Europe (Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland and Czech Republic) the car is now (who knows) on the boat to the US.

M5 Competition $110,000
Exec. P. $4,000
Bow&Wil $3,400
Full Merino . $3,500
Night Vision $2,300
M Drivers $2,500
Driving Ass $1,700
Total $127,400

My deal is as follows:

$127,400 msrp
$1,995 dest + gas guzzler
$6,398 (Full maintenance, Ding shield, Perma Plate, Acq. Fee)
$135,793 (-$5,500 ED - $2,000 DC)

$128,293

36 month lease
12k Miles a year.
$10k down
Second month free (so 2.8% additional discount : $2,159)

$1,981 a month + $178 tax (9.0% sales tax on payments. ( CA))

Not sure what people calculate residual from (base : 56%)

Did some quick math with my financial adviser, and in the current market leasing was less than paying the car full up front, and then sell it at estimated residual 3 years later.

uhm, you need a new financial advisor if he is ok with you putting 10k down on a lease. and 1980 a month after putting 10k down is even worse. terrible deal. but sounds like you already own it, so congrats...

It's an ok deal. They aren't comping your last 4 months, they just reduced the discount off the M5. I'd expect at least 8-10% off MSRP for the M5, especially if I purchased an X5 from them. 1550 a month is way too high for that low MSRP.

Yeah I agree with others. He needs to be fired or he's working on behalf of the dealership somehow because there is not one thing good about your deal. 6400 for BS that you won't use, discount off MSRP is shit, down payment is EXHORBITANT.

Unless you have billions in disposable income, do not take this deal.

My car is finally at the dealership after order was accepted by BMW on March 12 for production week 21 allocation!!

Vehicle actually arrived last week to the dealership. I’m vacationing now in Europe on a trip that was supposed to include European Delivery of this car. Just couldn’t find a deal back then on European Delivery.

Must say there is no better way to go back to reality from an awesome vacation than having a car waiting for you ! Also no wait for redelivery of car after doing a Welt delivery!

I rented a German tank for the portion of this trip in Germany and Austria. It was a brand new (less than 1000 miles) 2019 GLS 63 AMG (577 hp). So I fulfilled some AutoBahn fun alll the same ! My group had 6 people or I would have done SIXT rental of something smaller and of course more agile ...

I rerun stateside this Wednesday and have to button up final lease contract with my CA.

Hi all. Got a nearby SoCal dealer to 10% off MSRP plus the $2,500 lease cash, so on a ~$114,000 lower optioned M5 comp using base MF and 55% RV for 36/10, 0 down, payment is ~$1,390 incl tax.

I’m pretty sure within the next 60 days there will be better deals out there since there are dealers with 10+ M5s sitting, but I’m impatient. Thoughts?

Not sure about west coast market, but 10% off before the $2500 incentive is decent in the NE part of the country. In fact, 11% is doable on ground units if one isn’t particularly picky about the build.

I’m in a similar dilemma: try to do something now or wait another month or two so see if BMW boosts aid to dealers for moving 19s. Indeed there are many dealers with huge inventory of M5s, base and comp. These aren’t high volume to begin with and Aug is a slow month anyway (lots of folks on vacation).

If one is patient and has a few months to wait, that’s likely the right move IMO.

there is no guarantee in 60 days there will be better deals, who knows?

if this is the color combo you want, take it. although if it was me, i'd tell them it's a little out of my reach. then they will email you back saying where do we need to be, then i'll tell the 1300 tax in, and thats when you say i'm on my way.

just pulled the trigger on M5C , car on boat heading to VPC next week
got 10 % off plus rebates
despite I am sure that better deals will be out there next couple of months, the available cars will be limited , and did this deal at local dealer with no worries about hunting down a car at an out of town dealer
I have done a lot of out of town deals, but that can wear you down sometimes , so you have decide what fits your situation best
