I know it displays on the radio, so when a call comes in does it display on the radio and you select phone on the steering wheel? If so, soes it cut the radio/cd out if they are playing? and outbound calls - I guess you have to dial on the phone?

You can dial on your phone and hit DIAL/SEND, or you can dial using the radio buttons and then hit any of the Telephone buttons (on stereo or on steering wheel) to initiate the call, You can aslo dial with your voice, you hit the voice button on your steering wheel and say: Dial Number, Then when promted you just say the whole number in your regular voice and at regular speech speed, it will then be repeated back to you & if its correct (which i find it always is) , and then you say DIAL. and it will let you know: DIALING... It does cut out the radio if a call is made or received, |

My service technician also had thought that voice recognition was not standard, but it is with the E90 - at least with the Premium/Bluetooth option? Answer me this (my bluetooth is not currently working, nor has it ever - so I'm in the dark!) - can someone clarify how your contact list "uploaded" to the car (from phone) works? Does this also work in conjunction with voice activation (say the name), or do you merely scroll thorough a list?

I have motorola V710 and when I paired up the phone and the car the phonebook automatically downloaded. It can be displayed on the screen and when someone calls the contacs name is also shown. The voice activation is different from the phonebook. The car itself has a voice dial phonebook so you have to set that up yourself. Just press the voice command button and say "Save Name" and then follow the instructions. I didn't bother including my entire phonebook, only those people that I would need to call if I was on the road. I haven't gotten the system to dial by just saying a persons name, I always have to say "Dial Name" then the name then yes. Anyone else having trouble dialing by just saying "Dial <<Persons Name>>"?
