Bluetooth question
Want to be sure that I 100% understand correctly from reading through other threads before I deal on a car soon.
WITHOUT the tech package, it is IMPOSSIBLE to use bluetooth music from a smartphone. You can only make voice calls. I sat in a 228i NON TECH and saw bluetooth functions in the menu, but not sure if that was just for phone or I can stream from itunes through the speakers. Please let me know. not sure if different between 2014 and 2015 and 228 v 235. |

Non tech calls only. Can either code for music or add an aftermarket Bluetooth receiver in armrest for $10 or so.

I didn't purchase it separately, and I don't have NAV. The car came with Bluetooth. The "Enhanced Bluetooth" option, which I didn't get, adds the ability to pair two phones, and other features I don't need. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=999781

I understand the bluetooth still works without nav, but getting mixed signals from these responses. Can you stream Pandora and iTunes music via Bluetooth without the tech package or can you only use phone call functionalities

But that would explain why my streaming wouldn't work when hers was shut off. Thanks for the info, I'll have to try this regardless to test the theory but this explains a lot. |

I believe that answer is a "YES" you can stream without the Enhanced BT USB option. Standard on MY 2015's I believe.

just to ring in here. i just drove the 2015 model with no enhanced BT, no tech, no nav.. i was able to stream music via BT just fine on android using google play music. gps directions came through also as did calls. so i'm pretty sure its safe to say its standard.

I have the 2015 228i, no tech package and no Bluetooth integration and I can stream music via Bluetooth from my iPhone. I was actually surprised since I wasn't expecting this functionality. Just make sure you turn up the volume on your phone because otherwise the audio from the car will be really low

Check out this thread. you may be able to just code the EBT if the hardware exists in your car.
