Yes, but I generally go to the Luton branch (which is of course in Beds), but I find them more friendly.

Cheers. Son in Law works for the people that own Cooper BMW so I am looking at whether I can get some staff discount at one of the Cooper branches....

Usually take the Mini to Tring as nearest....

I know this is an older thread but thought this might be of interest. I went online to book RIS and both dealers near me quoting over £700. I rang the Sytner head office to get it booked in and have been quoted £425.

I live close enough to go to High Wycombe Sytner, Oxford or Reading and only Sytner managed to get this low.

Worth ringing up rather than booking online.

That is cheap, check that they use the right (TWO) diff oils and engine oil/filters.

A bit of an update just in case anyone is looking at pricing. Took the car in for the RIS yesterday. Got a call after I left to say the cost would be £730. I told them that I had been quoted £425 by head office team which is why it was booked in.

After much arguing I got them to listen to the call (thankfully they record them) and it turns out the lady had quoted me for a normal 5 series.

Long story short they realised there mistake and did it for £450 as supposedly this is the underlying cost of all the different oils that have to be changed.

The £999 service package seems no longer to be available. I have been quoted £45 x 36m ( £1620 ) for the BIS & one minor & no major service, this seems the now standard offer. If anyone taking this & have they been offered better?

On the subject of RIS, I know it’s supposed to be 1200 miles but do they frown if you have it done early? Diary constraints and a looming 300 mile round trip mean I am likely to get mine done at c950 to 1000 miles. I presume that won’t be too early as far as the warranty is concerned?

That would depend on the dealership your using. Ask them.

Thanks John, its going to Cooper Reading (staff discount via the son in law!) so suspect they will say just what they think he wants to hear!

I'll email random question to a couple of dealers and share answers with Cooper if needs be...

Sorry for the delayed reply - dealership was Sytner - called their head office and that is where the error happened. It actually went in to the High Wycombe one and they made the call to try and match it.

I am not sure there is an official answer to this - seem to be told different things by different people. My dealership said they would do it once over 1000 miles.

What are people's thoughts on this?

They have offered me the following service plan (same as above but seems first year upfront in this):
£540 deposit
£45 per month for 24 months
To include:

RIS
Oil & Microfilter: 15,000 miles / 24 months Service Due: June 2021
Major Service: 30,000 miles / 48 months Service Due: April 2023
1 x Free MOT
2 x Free map updates (June 21, April 23)

Total cost would be £1620 over 2 yrs, whereas if i do my planned 32,000 over 4 years then individual costs rrp is over £2,200.

I was offered the same, but declined.

don't get me wrong, there is a saving, but I don't want it washed, washer fluid top up isn't difficult and an MOT cost buttons.

MY RIS was negotiated to just over £500, so if you apply the same negotiation each time a service is required, then you will end up as good if not better.

Basically, it's just sending your money for the dealership to hold - be safer putting it aside yourself.
