Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say that there is no market for the M5CS. I just went on BMWUSA.com and built a M8GC and got the MSRP up to $162k. Even with all those options, I'd pick the M5CS every day of the week (and it's $20k cheaper).

I have a F06 GranCoupe and used to have a F10. The F10 had more interior space, more headroom and a way more useable rear seat. And yet the GC is longer both in length and wheelbase than the F10. But the design of the GC and the feeling of wellbeing and being cocooned in a special cabin I get everytime I drive the car is far beyond what the F10 did for me. Even being chaufeured in the back seat with my misses while drinking champagne is a special occasion in that car. For many the above is just not important in a car and the sacrifices you have to live with over a 5-series isn't worth it. I totally understand that. Back to topic on the awrsome M5 CS 😉 So much want!!!! |

At first I thought the $142k was a lot, but after adding every standard feature of the CS to a Comp they are are the same price.
BMW is actually not charging you more for the design/aero updates, 4 seater configuration, minimal hp bump |

It's for folks who are bored with the M3 and need a little more comfortable/bigger car. They probably own a Porsche/Ferrari as a weekend car as well.

Isn’t that the supposed weight of the new AWD M3/4? Not discounting what you’re saying, just that I thought this thing was in a whole different area code for weight. I’m also not suggesting this car cannot be tracked. I’m just saying that there’s so many other cars I would expect to see double duty before this one. I’m sure it’s insanely fast in a straight line - but I am not convinced it would be fun or effective in the corners....

And from what I understand, the US-spec cars will have a more sublet hue of yellow than that of our ROW counterparts. So it would be somewhere in-between "Halogen bulb to Midday Sunlight": . |

I'm in love with this M5 CS. So much attention to detail (most have already been discussed in previous posts). Truly an aspirational car and a great brand ambassador. They also did an incredible job with the official launch video!
I love how they put an ISOFIX anchor for child seats in each of the rear bucket seats as well for everyday use. |

The sound is sick but: I don't know why can't see myself driving a car which shares the same engine platform with a R8. Lambo should develop their own motorblocks.. Same story with URUS. |

I actually love this car. Love the rear seats. Looks pretty good for a 4 door sedan and is quite fast.
In terms of driving, that's still up in the air. I would consider buying one if it weren't for the steptronic that they're forcing down our throats. I'd take one with a PDK equivalent or manual. I don't see anyone actually tracking this car. Now if they can just fix the G80, the world would be right again. |
