Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have seen these issues in your cars...

1) When the engine is off and the key is out, it seems like some whirling noise is eminating from the cd/dvd drives. Like it is being constantly accessed. This happens when I unlock the doors and get inside the car after letting sit parked for hours too. Is this normal?

2) There is a triangle with an exclamation mark in its center in that little info area under the spedometer. I hit the up/down button on the turn signal stalk to scroll through the various text info options to get to the info option. After selecting that, the windshield wiper fluid icon appears in the top section of that display. Is the warning icon referring to check the windshield wiper fluid level?

3) I filled up my first tank of gas today and noticed this white substance caked onto the rim of the gas hole. Anyone know what this is and is it normal?

2. Yes it means check something in the car, and if your scroll throught the menus, it tells you! (red means more important)

3. No clue!

My wife heard that once when I turned off the car and ran into a store real quick. She said "I could hear your car's computer talking to itself." I don't know what it is. You say it comes from the center console? She thought the sound came from the glove box area.

Yes, that is the low wiper fluid warning. They must not put much in it at the dealer. Mine went off a couple of weeks after I bought it.

I try to keep my gas hole clean!

(1) and (2) are already answered. For (3), I'm guessing it's wax not completely wiped off by your dealer when they prepped your car. The cosmoline they put on for shipping is a dark gunky color, so that's not it. If it's white, it's probably wax. Just wipe it off.

#3-I think it is BMW lubricant so when you insert the gas pump thingy, it will go in smoothly. Other than that, I have no other explanation for it.

wow, that's an awfully personal problem to brink up in the forum....

maybe I'll start calling people Gas Holes from now on.....
