To give you some more data :

0 dB gain at idle
0 dB gain at 2000 rpm hold (basically, a high idle)
6dB gain with stationary throttle blips in the vid.

WOT under load is the best improvement.

If I rated the Factory Base stock exhaust a 0
The Akra on my X5M a 8

I'd give the Competition Exhaust a 4 or 5. Definitely worth doing, definitely enjoyable. If you like it LOUD LOUD wait for a race muffler.

At part throttle cruise and slight throttle increases, quiet as stock. It requires some load to shine.

Nice upgrade that I would do again.

Wow thank you for this post. I’ve had mine sitting for 2 weeks because I was hesitant on it being worth the installation. I will have mine installed at the dealer tomorrow.

Just make sure they have two (2) of 18307560815 Butt-Butt clamps or they will not finish. It came with the two clamps at the cats, I looked over the drawing and saw the other 2 clamps and ordered them as insurance.

If you want a deep note, that is pure stock at idle and at part throttle around town, but has more volume 1/3 throttle and up....this is a good system.

If you want a louder idle, louder part throttle, louder cruise sound and very loud wot.....this is not it.

I bought it to bridge the time until Akra is released in September.....but I do not want a police magnet....I might just keep this system as a cool balance.

Nice! I’m on the same boat just trying to mess around with it till Akra drops their exhaust system. Not really looking for something super loud just yet. I’m ok with a change while WOT. Does it burble more/louder while at higher RPMs? I will be getting my car back tomorrow so I’m kinda anxious.

The burbles do sound better. It does take the DME a few miles to learn the change as strange as that sounds.

BMW does this on almost all of their cars! it is true, got my MPerf exhaust and the guy who welded it told me every BMW he did had that dot marks!
