I'd take a Porsche all day over this also, but that doesn't mean there's a BMW fan out there with money to burn.

It will be great deal if can find one at MSRP. No doubt it is a great car and has high collection value, but i simply cant justify to pay over MSRP. I wish I have that kind of money.

They give you those straight from the factory It was easily fixed but still. The hood on GTS is hand painted so they do a little finishing polish to it.

No manual transmission, could care less. Would rather get a 997 GT3 for the same/less cash.

There are some dealers that will not charge above MSRP regardless of voucher or not. Those dealers are typically not on the West Coast.

A couple of the guys with GTS's AND GT3 rs's have had them at the track for multiple sessions. the general consensus is the GTS feels faster but was turning slower lap times by a little compared with their 991 RS's. They also said that they felt the GTS had much more in it, but b/c its a bit more manic they were still learning it, and now both playing with setups and adding seat time.
Both reported how exciting it felt to drive, and there was more of a learning curve, the RS's with their rear steering was more planted and they both have more experience seat time in their porsches, but found the GTS very-very fast and ultimately extremely exciting. Both loved the car and felt it presented an awesome yet different experience. It should also be stated both these individuals I've spoken to own multiple gt3 RS's from multiple years. and one mentioned that the sticker on their RS when optioned out was close to 100k cdn more new (at msrp) than the GTS, so even though we often talk about which would you rather....they are not entirely direct competitors....but are extremely close.... and should be compared to the GT3, in which the GTS starts to throw some shade.

You're forgetting to add the overall driving experience to "track focused". To use an example close to home for me, I do 8-12 track days per year, and I could have bought a new car that went around the track faster than a GT4 and spent less -- but not all fast cars are as fun to drive, and not all fun cars are fast. I wasn't suggesting that the M4 GTS was being sold as a no-compromises racecar, but rather a very capable track car in terms of lap time that's also going to have a particular focus on being fun to drive, whereas the Turbo S is more about being a cushy cruise missile compared to cars that are both fast and more driving experience-oriented, like Porsche's own GT# cars. The new Turbo S is also faster around the Ring than a GT3, but how many track people do you see trading their GT3s in for the "superior" Turbo S? It's not because they can't afford its higher price tag. The cars simply have different design goals and underlying philosophies.

You're also comparing a presumed markup price of a car that's production-limited to the MSRP of a car that isn't. As a more extreme example, some people got the new 991 RS at MSRP, while others paid markups of up to $100K -- and that car isn't even officially production-limited. The 911 R on the other hand is, and it's already trading for $1.3 million! Obviously the value proposition especially if you're judging that by lap times will be very different depending on what price you specifically had to pay. But looking at MSRPs, the M4 GTS is very close to the 991 GT3, and (likely not coincidentally) so is its Ring time. Comparing those two, I would imagine that the difference will come down to whether for roughly the same money you would rather go faster and have a more extreme-looking, rare car (GTS) or want some combination of NA, rear-engine, lighter weight, and possibly more DDability in terms of appearance and ride (GT3).

BSM represent!!! I love the Orange accents. My CA sold a white one w/ the 681s and it arrived today, going to go check see it in person tomorrow before delivery.

Can someone tell me why in the hell those wheels are 15k?!?!? Maybe a tax for "customers who complain about 666 wheels". Lol these look good but not 15k upcharge good!

Good points, and I wasn't forgetting the overall experience, it's why I used "etc" I my description of "track focused". Of course it's important, and incredibly subjective - in terms of what constitutes the experience as well as how it is judged to have those qualities. Experience is what renders these conversations usually moot...I was just using a data point that provided some objective understanding what a potent machine the 991 TTS is on track, and that it is, by many peoples definitions, very track focused. And, unlike the BMW GTS, its value will decline immediately, making it even more appealing to many who can pick up a used one for less than the non-marked up GTS.

Eh, not into it for that kind of money - even before the demand markup. Anything based on a 4-series is just not going to look beastly enough for what I'd expect in the six figure range. I'm sure it's a blast to drive, but you could find a car that's a blast to drive and looks boss for that kind of money. Then again, it's not hard to find a few hundred people in LA who will buy anything at any price so I'm sure they'll sell out quickly above MSRP. These are obviously opinions so hopefully this doesn't throw some 21 year old on here into a tantrum
