That’s saying something since the ctsv has been out for awhile now and the m5 is brand new and still lost in chassis and steering, that’s kind of a disappointment to me.

The way things are going, the new ctsv will probably beat this m5. We shall see

CTS-V has a great chassis and I even considered buying one a while ago as my US car, but still, I can't stand the interior and unless GM do a major overhaul in that area, I don't see myself with one.

idk why people are comparing the m5 to a gtr...two completely different cars built for different reasons.

the m5 is a dual purpose sports sedan, it is excellent at both but not purpose built for either.

the gtr is built for the track, uncomfortable for dailying...and the cost of (true) upkeep of it is very expensive. I didn't buy one for that reason, although I loved the car ('14 black edition). But a ring time of 7:08 (with driver mistakes) shows its capability in the track segment. that's what it was built for.

Indeed. Even since the E90 M5 they were touching some incredible numbers.. 500+hp in a family sedan that can easily fit baby car seats and all while pushing close to, if not hitting, 200MPH in comfort!

Caddys have been doing some serious witchcraft stuff man. A ton of ATS reviews show it is better than the M3.. It's crazy to imagine that.. I just can't imagine driving a ATS-V over a M3. Would love the bargain for that type of power and handling though.. but I just can't get myself to pull that trigger.

That metallic exhaust tone is definitely very distinct to that motor.. I personally like the E39 M5 V8 better. But yes, our F30's sound like crap compared to these.. I wish our motors had a bit more grunt and a deeper tone. Really miss my old G35 and B7 S4 rumble.

it wasnt just me that said the e46 sounded better than muffler delete e92, was literally every friend and friends of friends. the e46 stock sounds like a tin can no doubt and can be made much worse with the wrong exhuast setup.
