It better be as BMW has had ample time to study the E class as it's been out for a while already.

Better in what way and for whom?
To some degree, yes but the reality is, and I think this was mentioned in previous threads, the entire development cycle does not allow manufacturers to throughly study the competition. BMW can anticipate what its competition will do mainly based on trends but I don't think they can mimic and come out with a car that throughly trumps its competition just because it was released x years after. The W213 will be on the market for about a year by the time the 5er is released but that doesn't mean the 5er would have had a year to make it better than the E-Class. The 5er would have been finalized and ready for production even before then with any changes to be minor but I don't think time would allow them to make any significant changes in features in that time span. This is what annoyed me the most about the Motor Trend comparison between the 7er and S-Class, they kept emphasizing that the 7er should be ahead of the S-Class in every way because it was released 2 or so years after the W222. |

Same here the car is actually nice, especially the interior looks well done and of quality (of course, it could be more concept like, more modern); those headlights extending all the way till the nose are however terrible (still, we have seen worse, aka 1 series).
oh yes, the presenter in this video: he always reminds me of a squirrel on caffeine. |
