Does anyone else have other BMW drivers get triggered or aggressive on the road when they see your M5? OR are you the asshole driver?

I have tailgaters like no other in the M5. I mean seriously drivers get all uppity and feel they need to flex on the M5...I'm talking buick drivers, jeeps, Cadillacs on and on. I've noticed in the X3m as well. BMW drivers around here tend to clueless for the most part and Audis never try to flex on me.

Mostly it's indifference from other BMW drivers; they only care about the badge/brand and don't know much else. The others is a mix of appreciation/waves and haters. I get the most response out of trucks, and they are all negative. I will be so glad to leave this state (TN). Yeehaw. In general, most everyone around here seems completely unaware of the M5. I'm not even sure they recognize the 50th anniversary roundel as being BMW.

I did have a 3 series pull off the other day trying to flex, and most of the times I just roll my eyes and maintain my ennui. Not that day, though.

I get a mix — if a G80 is about I think they like to go quick / follow / take off. It seems all in good fun from my experiences. Then I get random Nissans, infinities, etc that do the attempting flexing stuff. Had a Mercedes SL of some kind try to ride my bumper this past weekend. I’d have kept pulling but I didn’t want to get well into triple digit speeds.

All in all don’t see too many people bothering in a negative way and not much from random BMWs.

M4 a while ago wanted to “cut up” in traffic busy highway at night. Nope! Let him flex his aftermarket exhaust and move on ahead!

Usually I detest someone tailgating me as I find it really disrespectful and careless. But did have some good fun with a Mazda behind me on a backroad. He stayed right on me in the corners and I pulled WAY ahead on the straights!

last night going home i had an M8xx something 4-door almost running a stop sign in my neighborhood and then ride my ass, i drove slow and he backed off. lol

I get the same thing, cars doing everything they can to get by me in the other lane. Meanwhile at the redlight the person in the other car always mentions they love the car and especially my license plate "BURNGAS". That plate literally sets off tesla and prius owners.

Not really an issue with my F92 (or my wife's G42). It used to be crazy back in the day with F80. Literally everyone wanted to race me - from the Kia ecobox to the Diesel pickup.
But to your point if someone wants to play games now - it's mostly other BMWs. The type old and tuned - trying to prove a point that their $10k vehicle is soooo much faster than your $160k vehicle. I admire you guys here that just "drive slow" and move on ... I usually turn into a dick and take the bait.

Around here is all the stelantis products that have a super charger. And the occasional m3/4.

Luxury cars are very much the norm where I live. Most main line German cars are somewhat pedestrian. Also a lot of Range Rovers and Teslas. It’s Italian cars, McLarens, Bentleys and Rolls Royces, and hypercars that get the majority of the attention. I very rarely get a-holes — in fact I can’t remember the last time I encountered one based solely on driving an M5. It’s generally thumbs up, compliments, “beautiful car” and the like. Also, lots of drivers with comparably performing cars generally just want to play a bit. I always oblige with those drivers.

Interesting to see how all of your answers differ after seeing your locations.

Same in Scottsdale... I actually get way more attention and people staring, saying nice car, and surprisingly trying to race me in the G63. Which is so odd to me. The M5 is probably too fly under the radar to get much attention here with all the ultra high end cars causing around

I usually get Tesla and Hell Cats wanting to race, it never ends well for them. I also do find people ride my ass in the 5 more then in any of my other cars.

That’s a very nice area, and the M5 is definitely an IYKYK car. Something I absolutely love about it.

I agree. We always stay at the Fairmont Princess Hotel there where they play the Waste Managemt PGA at.

I live in a big college town in nort-central Floria, most of the high end cars are older retired folks who enjoy nice things. Not much bumper riding up here. We have a nice local track here which is home of the Gatornationals which scratches the go-fast itch for me.

I know it well, I live about 5 min north of there. Go to the WMPO every year. I live in Grayhawk/DC Ranch/Silverleaf area.

We do quite a few staycations at the Fairmount. It's a great hotel for holidays with really cool family events for Christmas, 4th of July, Easter etc. Kids love the Christmas at the Princess

try walking back from the main building to your suite/cottage at night since it's pitch dark and we're drunk

😂😂😂 been there….. many times. I’ve even walked home from that tournament thinking it would be fine…. Turns out little longer walk than I thought especially inebriated…

If you’re not walking somewhere drunk after WMPO you’re not doing it right.

Those “bartenders” that get flown in from LA, LV and make their way up from ASU on 16th hole suites sure know how to make it difficult to drive 😂😂😂 and there’s a reason I use “ “ talking about the bartenders 😂😂

Isabella’s kitchen on grayhawk is my go to watering hole walked home from there many times as well after a long day on the course with the boys.
