The smears have been there since I bought the car but they're mostly invisible until the sun strikes them. Given where I live, that happened for the first time yesterday (I'm embellishing slightly). I've tried every form of perspex/glass/plastic cleaner known to man.... or at least to me and nothing works.

Any suggestions?

If you have an "e cloth" or basically a water application followed by a high quality micro fiber cloth and really ensure you get the moisture off that was the only thing that really worked for me. I also had some luck with sunglasses cleaner which is I think the same as apple cleaner so hopefully that works! Down with smudges!!

the whoosh stuff works but make sure you are not soaking the entire cloth just a little spray and polish with a dry section afterwards

Looks like residual from when the dealer preped the car. You can also give this a try. Used for removing all oils and waxes on paint prior to doing ceramic coating or wax but also works great on glass.

I use a dry ultrafine microfiber cloth and wipe down the instrument cluster in my previous G30 and current F90. No chemicals required. Does the job well. If alot of stains or oils, use a damp tissue to wipe over the areas and then use a dry ultrafine microfiber cloth to wipe over. Does the job all the time.

Using chemicals, wet cloth, etc makes it worse.

use any LCD TV/Screen cleaner that work without leaving any streaks. Have to work at it to get into those small crevasses. Not too bad but I literally put a towel over the dash so car wash guys don't touch it, as they always leaves marks.

Thanks, guys.

I've tried every standard product imaginable including monitor wipes, glasses wipes, these so called special TV wipes, Windex for screens, vinegar, newspaper... nada.

I just tried Whoosh and it's done! Thanks for the suggestion.

Sigh. My declaration of success was premature. It's different now but not gone. I've tried letting it dry and then repeating the process but this is the end result:

This is what it looks like if I press and smudge with my finger:

Well I'll be darned--I used the dry cloth after smearing it with my finger and it's now more of a mild tint than streaks; it looks smokey but completely transparent.

That'll do!

Its definitely a PITA to clean and not leave any streaks. I also used SprayWay cleaner. You have to use it very little at a time and don't let the product dry. Also I was working with it in very small circles to get at the edges. Keep the micro fiber towel as dry as possible, once it gets damp it will leave the marks.

Yeah, I tried all of these ideas but the only thing that's worked so far is the magic cleaner I mentioned below, smudging it was my finger and then using microfiber clothes--it's unconventional but I no longer have the problem.

That mr clean magic eraser is like sand paper. Trust me on this, use CarPro Eraser and it will be done with. I use to use SprayWay glass cleaner on all glass and plastics but now I only use Carpro eraser as it will leave absolutely no streaks and leaves antistatic finish.

I used Whoosh and that did it albeit with a finger smudging requirement.

Yeah, I just got a bottle Whoosh and the directions do say to do “Finger Smudging” within the fine print at the bottom of the bottle!
