I second this. David is phenomenal. I know him personally and he's the only guy in sales that is not shady.

Highly recommend him. He's back in Catonsville MD.

Sorry, I meant out of all the ones I've dealt with.

What's the best way to get dealers to come down on price and what's an offensive offer to someone? Is asking 10% off insulting?

What do you think of the following deal?

Msrp 111,000

Selling: 106,000

Turning in my m2 mid lease with 21 payments left and after everything ( negative equity on m2)my monthly on the 19 m5 will be $1650 per month with $3500 down. Is that good?

Hard to know without knowing how much negative equity is being absorbed into the M5 lease payment.

However, I'll say that $5k off a M5 MSRP is not very good. I wouldn't take anything less than 8% off on a M5 Comp (and more on a base M5). There are dealers out there willing to do this and more...I've seen up to 10% off.

Oh - and if the quote you posted is on a base M5, then all the dealer is doing is showing you the $5k lease credit that comes from BMWNA.

I assume it's 106k selling cost with his 5k in negative equity. I ran the numbers that's what it represents.

There are a few other factors we need to know but it's not too bad

Asking for what you want should not be “offensive” when it comes to business. If you’ve ever seen a “Market Adjustment Sticker” at a dealership on the window sticker adding 10k (or more) to MSRP... then you know it’s fair game to ASK for anything you like. Best to remove emotion from your negotiating I’ve found. It takes a poker face! lol

As to your question of best way to get dealership to come down.... I’d say move on to the next! Remember you have many choices and if your willing, have the energy and are patient to hunt the deal, then you will likely be rewarded.

Good luck !

Actually got the same thing for $1550 per month from a different dealer and walked away. Settled for m550 /81k for $950 per mo and no money down.

Sorry this is a super long thread and I did not go through the whole thing.

I am trying to get a decent deal for a M5 comp for ED this coming May. Any recommendations for a dealer nationwide for a decent price? I am in S FL but I can travel wherever if it is worth it.

It is mid March now... turn around time for typical European Delivery is usually 3 months after submitting your build. I believe there can be options for a quicker delivery date for a car already spec’ed. That is not a guarantee. As you probably know M cars come out dealership allocation. They can make more money on vehicles sold off their lot the way BMW structures their holdbacks. So good luck with your timeframe and goals for a good deal! I picked up an M4 at WELT in 2015. Back then BMW discounted 7% and I got the dealer to give up 2% out of their margin. So 9% off US sticker price and I had to work that pretty hard here in California...

Located in Dallas, TX but shopped around the country for an in-stock or soon to be in-stock M5, standard or Competition.

Came across 8-10% off MSRP. Local dealers in the Dallas area offered 0%-1.6% off MSRP.

I am in Dallas as well and working quotes from all corners of the U.S. By chance is the deal you made on a Black Sapphire Metallic/Black? I had a live one on the line and suddenly it was gone. Still working to close a deal as my current 2016 M5C lease is about to end. I got my current car in CA.

M5 Comp with C roof, Driving and Exec. $123,105. Paid $109,000.. roughly 11% off. The car was dealer spec and had been on the lot for three days. March 16 2019.

I was kinda maybe thinking about going to the M5. I saw the dealer had kinda what I would want if I were to have ordered one and stopped by on Saturday at 1pm. At 2pm the check was written and I had a new M5 lol. I had a number written down on a piece of paper to remind myself what I was willing to pay so I wouldn't get caught up and go overboard. Sales Manager gave me price.. I pulled the piece of paper out of my pocket and we met in the middle. Negotiating took 5 seconds. I probably could have gotten another $1k off, but, I'm happy. My SalesChick who now has three sales to me did nothing other than hand me the keys, give me a box to clean out the old car and switch the plates.

I see several buyers in Dallas area, as am I. Local dealers don't seem interested in making deals yet same cars sitting on the lots for over 2 weeks now.

Same experience i had with dealers down here, ended up going out of state again. Oh well. Some dealers simply wont deal, because the clientele they deal with is just stupid. Sad fact. Most people walk in,get a price, can't negotiate (or are too scared to) and sign, and drive off.

Any potential capability to have a dealer apply discounting to a customer bespoke configuration? Last dealer I spoke with mentioned they wouldn't discount if the order was an individual color and fully equipped.. which I'm obviously not believing to be the case.
