The MPG Game
I know it is easily possible to empty a tank on our cars within 120 miles and this game is not about that.
I want to know what is the best MPG you have managed to squeeze out of your car? This is the best I have been able to get out of mine so far.......... |

Wow. That's impressive. I've only managed 22 on the way back and that was a lot of freeway driving.

I drove M5 on two round trips NY to NC in sport plus, driving limit plus 10 all the way, etc, and I got an average of 21.4 mpg. This included long areas of 80 mpg, (70 zones) and up and down mountains. I guess in economy mode at the speed limit I would have gotten better numbers.
My M5 gets better milage than both our '19 Sienna and '15 Q7, both with V6's (Q is supercharged). The Q7 has 333 hp and weighs 5300 pounds and we get about 18 mpg all around. The Sienna has 263 hp and weighs 4500 pounds and gets about 18 mpg also. On the trip to NC I had the Sienna in it's 'sport setting' and had the whole family with me, but I suspect that if I left it in the eco setting I would have gotten better numbers, but not been able to pass anyone. LOL. All three are AWD. Mike

It’s possible to get decent economy. Over 800 km three times on a single tank of gas. But it takes wide open highway and a disciplined right foot.

So... that's clearly below 9 l/100km ...or more than 26 mpg. This is impressive!
