I used to have my plates off till i get a ticket for it. I used to drive a C class ( BTW Benz sucks, Bimmer rulz) and i got a ticket, but i had a friend who is a sheriff so he signed it off for me and I only paid 15 bucks.... So just put it on it does not affect the look anyway.

Parking enforcement cops in L.A. will give you a ticket even while you're away from your car for no front plate. It's 'cause of the red light cameras. They need you're smiling face and a front plate to send you a ticket in the mail.

not true, they can still give you a redlight camera ticket with lic plate on the rear only and showing your face clearly in the pic. I should know, I got a ticket a while back with only rear lic plate

So i went to court and i had the plate installed on it so I needed a sig. from an officer so sign off and got it down to $165. It would have cost me $20 if I had removed my front tint but decided not to. funny..the lady at the register asked if i was sure cuz i can get another ticket for having it on...and i just smiled and yah...leave it on.

I also like the European plates. They are much less unattractive on the front than ours are. I wonder why our plates aren't that shape or at least have an option for that shape. Heck, you can get all kinds of different color distinctive plates nowadays.
Seems you should be able to pay a little bit and get a Euro-style plate. They had to go through bureaucratic machinery to get those plates with whale fins, little hands, the sun, etc permitted. So why not the opportunity to make some serious money on plates from a potentially huge group of people that might otherwise not be interested. I think people would be far less likely to leave off the front plate.

I got pulled over on Lincoln Blv...Marina Del Rey once before, and had 3 parking tickets in Westwood for no Front plate.
After that run of 4 tickets in 6 weeks, I put it on....and have left it on. Hmmm...maybe its time to take it off again.

Yah, they're pushing the Front place req now so it's just a hassle to pay the fine and go to court. I'm keeping my on even though it looks unattractive for the front.
