Moonroof?

I found a vehicle that is the exact same as my build specs pretty much, except that it has a moonroof, and I wanted the carbon fiber roof. I'd be able to get this F90 about 2 months sooner than my current order is estimated to arrive.

Should this be a dealbreaker? Is having the moonroof going to slow down the car at all or otherwise affect performance?

Would most people ever even notice that the roof is CF? FWIW, the car I'm looking at is bluestone metallic (greyish), so there wouldn't be much contrast against the carbon anyway.

In any real world sense, I can't imagine a hundred pound difference is going to affect a 600 hp car in any way at all. Unless you are going to strip it and turn it into a track car I'm not sure that making the car a bit more top heavy will change a thing. I think it really depends on whether you want exactly what you want, or if you are impatient! Both are equally valid!

In my mind, I didn't think it would make a difference either, and I'm also only 5'5" tall, so walking to the car in the mornings and after work I probably would never even notice the carbon roof.

It was a deal breaker on my end. We had all the previous generations to have moon roofs! Performance wise you're not going to feel a difference. In my eyes its all aesthetics!

it was a dealer breaker for, although i want a sapphire black but I still prefer the CF roof shape. I'll have to wait 2 months also just for the cf roof but its what I want.

I like my moon roof, unless you're a real deal racer on a racetrack you'll never touch the difference in performance. The CF roof IS handsome, though, and bragging rights yada, yada..

I’d wait. CF on top of Sapphire Black rocks. First thing my buddy noticed when he saw my car. He was mega impressed with the exposed CF roof.

Performance is negligible to me on such a car from the weight savings. In theory the less weight is ideal, but for going to the mall and the to the 7-11 where these cars will go most of the time it's irrelevant.

The carbon looks awesome and for me i'd wait to get it. I've had so many cars with sunroofs and they never get opened or used.

My buddy who has worked for BMW in Munich, Land Rover and Apple said it best when I asked him this question...

If you like the CF look then you should definitely wait.

If I was getting a dark color I’d go with the sunroof. But since I’m getting a light color I’m going with the CF roof, I really like the contrast.

Bluestone is a light color... there will be a lot of contrast. Performance won't matter, make the choice on aesthetics vs whether you like sunroofs. Because it changes the look a lot I wouldn't let 2 months sway your decision.

I had an silverstone M3 with cf roof and the car really popped with that roof. I'd wait because your getting bluestone. You won't be sorry.

I have carbon fiber roof and its fine. Would have slightly preferred moonroof, but the "look" is very clean and cool from the outside with all CF.

It does look nice with the CF roof. But I like both looks.

For black car I would probably opt for moonroof, but for any other color I think CF looks better.

Yes, I find the contrast to be very interesting on other colors, to bad you can't have CF and a moonroof!

Honestly I prefer the carbon fiber roof and do not like moon roofs.. I can feel a difference, but I probably drive my cars different than most people. If it's a daily driver, you may not even notice it. (Unless you are tall.) If it's going to be for track use then do not get a sunroof. Hope I helped.
