The hood lines are ugly, the rear line in the bumper is ugly...

I am sure that BMW is capable of building a very nice front wheel drive vehicle. I just don't see the purpose of buying one.

Honda etc. make great front wheel drive cars. Why pay for a BMW that is merely emulating one of theirs?

Now if they had built the GC on the bones of the 2 series, that would be a car that I would like. But...if I had wheels I would be a trolley car.

Really happy! Wow amazing design. I'm really amazed how fantastic BMW design has changed its ways with trailblazing designs.

Seriously - round of applause BMW. I'll be at a dealership to buy one soon!

This car is everything that's wrong with BMW...

Horrible styling
FWD
Niche product that doesn't need to exist
Zero innovation

It's so, so, so ugly. The CLA is so much better than this thing, although I'd argue neither car needs to exist in the market.

Hopefully it sells terribly so they don't keep making cars like this. They need to clean house at BMW and reinvent themselves. Everything from design to engineering. They've lost so much ground over the past 5 years to the competition. I've owned 10 BMWs in the past 14 years. My current M2 will be the last BMW I'll own for the foreseeable future, and I'm selling it in a week.

It's not horrible. But it could easily be a Ford or Kia.

Grew up a BMW fanatic. Only car I've ever owned. 330i, and two 428is. Once i save enough for bigger and newer purchase a few years out, i can hardly say I'll be getting a BMW. All these new models are just plain CHOCH

The front drive based X1 and X2 built on the mini platform actually handle pretty good. They retain some if that BMW handling characteristic just in a different form factor. This is meant to be a mass market practical car more than an enthusiast car. There will be a coupe that remains rear drive on the same platform as the 3 Series with a shorter wheel base.
