Thanks. Let get back on subject. Members please post your lease numbers. To be able to pay cash shows I have done very well business wise. Don't hate just congratulated

SFT33 - Why the comment on judging someone's business acumen? I'm sure he's done well enough to earn that kind of cash. Totally unhelpful to this discussion. Check yourself.

Isn't the interest rate 3.89% for purchases and 3.65% for leases? What safe investment is there that pays you anywhere near that much (not to mention more than that) after taxes?

I am more surprised at what some are paying on this car. $1,800/month for a 5 series? Um, no.

What is surprising about that to you? It is a 100k+ car. $1800 isn't bad. My Tesla lease was $2300/mo. I'm saving $500/mo with the M5. It's a bargain.

Yeah, as opposed to either of my M6's.....both were higher MSRP and I paid way less (and for 24 month leases, which are normally much more $$).

M6 Gran Coupe for $1,300 or M5 for $1,800? Yeah, will take the M6 every time.

Just surprised they are getting that much for the M5....

This I disagree with.....you won't find many $100k cars for $1k/month unless you put some cash down. Maybe stripped down or outgoing models.

On this model right now until things settle down, I agree. But very doable on almost every other BMW

Nothing surprising... just not what I would do, that's all.

To each his own I guess.

Everybody has a specific value (aka a price they will pay) for something. If $68K is the price someone is willing to pay to enjoy a car for 3 years then so be it.

It's like flying coach vs. business.

Comes down to choice.

The important thing for me is that $68k for three years isn't just the enjoyment of the car for 3 years - part of it is the call option at the end of three years. If I love the car, I can buy it for what I'd pay for a used one - only it was used by the best owner possible (myself).

If I don't love the car, I will get something else. If I ended up buying (financing) instead, I would have still paid ~$60-70k after three years, but I would then be faced with having to sell the car (potentially for a loss) or keeping it and continuing to pay.
