F90 M5 - all interior sound stopped working
Hey guys,
Did a preliminary search on my issue at hand but couldn't quite find a thread. I used the car to get to my local beach today. When i returned 3 hours later, i noticed that the volume knob wasn't working. Then i noticed my speaker B&W lights were off. And that Bluetooth wasn't working. And parking sensors stopped making sound. And all sounds and notification dings stopped. I can still see the satellite and regular radio. But no sound. Even the voice commands didn't work. Nothing sound or noise wise works. Need to point out that the AC still works. The car alarm still makes a sound. Car drives well as always. Comfort access still works. Really strange. Is anyone familiar with such an odd issue? All interior sound has stopped working. Any advise or solution would be great. I am trying to avoid going to dealer at the moment. But may need to. Thanks y'all. |

If you've lost all sound, the first thing I would suggest is to check the fuses, they should be documented in the handbook or on the iDrive.

So i started the car today, and the issue went away. I am glad. But at same time concerned that something could be inherently faulty in the car. Not sure if it's normal for such issues to just occur and then disappear without any future breaks. May need to reluctantly visit the dealer.
Did anyone else ever experience completely losing all sound and audible alerts in their m5s? |

I had intermittent loss of all sound in my M3 years ago. It seemed to happen when the ambient temp got high and I had driven for long enough to heat things up. Turned out to be the amplifier, which was mounted in the trunk area. They replaced it under warranty. ($1200 if it wasn't under warranty) Different car, but sounded familiar, so I thought I would mention it. I wouldn't make a special trip to the dealer just for this. I would just wait 'till the next time it's in, you can mention it to them, unless it happens again.
