Impressed with the MSport exhaust
Ive had 1 E46 M3, 2 E60 M5's, 1 E70 X5M, 1 F10 M5, 1 F13 M6 and now the F90 M5C.
Standard mods on all - wheels, black out the trim, springs on some and exhaust (plus other goodies here and there). For the first time I am actually considering not upgrading to Akra or M Performance exhaust and just keeping it stock. I've only got about 50 miles on it so far and have stayed under 4000 rpms but so far, so good. I think BMW has done something right with this one! |

Agreed as well. The OEM options are now ticking most of the boxes for a lot of people unless they want a real aggressive sound. I have just the standard exhaust as I wanted something more subtle and I love it. Also OP only reports 50 miles - the sound should get even better as the exhaust breaks in and will get a deeper tone. Mine sounds much deeper now at 1800 miles.

I’ve noticed pictures of some cars that have the carbon fiber exhaust tips with a slight notch for the ///M logo; is that because the exhaust has been upgraded to the performance exhaust?

I had the Akra on my 2013 M5 and the M Performance (made by Akra) on my 2014 M6 GC. Those sounded waaay better than stock but back then the stock was nowhere near as good as it is today. Would be interested in a side-by-side of M Sport vs. M Performance. |

Gosh I’m so tempted to order the M performance exhaust option. I’m planning on leasing and this can be installed at port before I take delivery and therefore can be residualized within the lease

Standard Exhaust vs M5C Sport Exhaust
Quote:
What are your thoughts on the Standard Exhaust? What are everyone's thoughts on the Sport Exhaust that comes with the M5C? Does anyone know how much it costs to upgrade to this Sports Exhaust?

You will not be happy with the standard M5 exhaust, so you might as well start shopping around. Remus is an excellent choice all around and reasonably priced.

I had the M Sport exhaust on mine, it was definitely much better than stock but I still wasn't happy with it. For some reason the turbo whine that can be achieved from intake + downpipe/midpipe is just so addicting even on idle it is intoxicating to me I just can't get enough of it especially with the windows down. Sounds downright raunchy!
EDIT* Not my car but this is the sound I'm referring to. View post on imgur.com Last edited by cream; 12-04-2019 at 09:41 PM.. |
