I don't have my F90 yet, another month probably, but I've looked at pictures and videos. The welded aluminum dome on the F10 stiffening plate has disappeared as a jacking point for the F90 in the front. The all wheel drive changes things considerably and makes me glad I bought a car lift from QuickJack. I use the BL-5000EXT and it's made things easier for home maintenance. I've been happy with it for about a year now. They can be found at quickjack.com. The F90 wheelbase is slightly longer, but I'm confident this lift will still fit the jack points on each side of the car.
EDIT! Just today I tried to use the QuikJack BL-5000EXT on my 2019 M5. BMW has changed the spacing between the jack pads, front to rear!!!! The BL-5000EXT lift platform isn't long enough to lift the 2019 M5! QuikJack now makes the BL-6000XLT model which is long enough, just. I'm sorry if anyone relied on my optimistic assumption that the model I used on the F10 M5 would fit the F90!!!! Last edited by Used2be; 08-24-2020 at 07:31 PM.. |

There is definitely NOT a front center jack point on the F90 M5. I unfortunately had to learn this the hard way. I assumed what I was looking at under the front of the M5 was similar to what was on the F10 M5. And boy was I wrong! I jacked up the front end, only to end up causing major damage. DO NOT try to kick up this way. The end result if that it bent the metal skid plate resulting in me having to replace the Steering Gear, Right Front Axle and the Underbody Panel...all for a cool $10,000!!!!

By any chance you know the measurement between the lift points. Curious if the 7000 would work since it's cheaper and would make me feel better about lifting the X5 50i

I need to take a rear wheel off for puncture repair but it will be getting vulcanised so will be at the repair shop for couple days in a jig, hence trawling through threads to see where best to put axel stand on F90. I will look underneath tomorrow to see if there's an obvious point else I will try what I did on my 330d, which is to use 2 jacks, one on each jacking point under the side sill. Then remove one and replace with axel stand. These cars are very stiff and strong with short suspension travel. Worked ok for me previously!
Had quick look, the ally subframe is exposed and looks to be a great place for axel stands. Last edited by Maxlude; 08-01-2020 at 09:19 PM.. |

Should be two rectangle cut outs on each side under the side sill just inside of the tires.

If the 5000EXT didn't work (according to the previous poster), then the 7000EXT won't work either as they have the same maximum lift point spread.

Sorry, I missed your post, but seeing JakerStyle's post I can say that you need the BL-6000XLT for the 76" maximum lift point spread. The F90 is about 75" from outside of rear lift pad to outside of front lift pad.

5000SLX: 60" 7000EXT: 66" 6000XLT: 76" Given the distance between lift points, the 6000XLT is the only one that would work, legally. |

Yeah, but maybe a bit risky given the way the QJ drops and raises the car relies a good deal on the tires being able to roll a bit to relieve bind which would otherwise apply a shear between the floor, QJ and jacking points. With such heavy cars and low profile tires that don’t have a ton of flex available in their sidewalls, this probably is a greater force than the QJ geometry was designed around.
Maybe he’s done many a lift successfully, but I wouldn’t recommend it or do it myself. |

I was a little confused as to what you were asking with your post, but I think you mean what does QJ use on their lift to connect with the jacking points on the car? QJ uses four hard rubber spacers and they provide two sets with the lift, four 2 inch thick blocks and four 3 inch thick blocks. They’ve proved to be very durable and they handle the deformation from the BMW jacking point without being torn or penetrated while providing a slip free attachment. |

Thanks though! On a side note. How long do they typically deliver. Didn't see an option on the website. Also how is it delivered. Noticed they tried to charge me $100 to have someone actually take it from the truck to my door? Lmao. What a scam.

The point is you don't need the pucks with the qj rubber blocks since they are just soft enough not to damage the plastic jacking points.
It takes a pretty annoying alignment step out of the process. |

They deliver via UPS in about a week, to your door, for free as it says on the order page for QJ. If you ordered from QJ you already know this. |

Separately, as an owner of a 5000SLX which I used on my since departed C7 Grand Sport, I emailed QJ and asked if the pump assemblies are identical on the 6000XLT and if I could just buy the racks along with their quick disconnects and swap the two rack pairs in and out depending on the car, without having to buy a separate pump assembly.
The answer is YES, and they are happy to sell you just the rack pair if that's what you need. In case it's helpful to another current QJ owner... |
