Hi, Cacou. No, I don't think so but it really depends on tire width.

I know I'm standing out the group of M5s here but I did put 245/45R19 Nokian Hakkapeliita R3 on 19" 8.5 wheels, square setup.
Much narrower than everyone else here...
I drive Montreal-Quebec weekly so I need to plan for very shi*ty weather and road conditions. Performance driving is not something I consider in the winter but my velocity is more than decent.

So far so good.

So I spent a lot of time looking for a non-BMW solution in a 19" staggered setup. I found very few wheels that were guaranteed to fit the M5, and even fewer that were in stock. Same with the tires; I couldn't get the full set of Michelin PA5s. Here's what I ended up getting, which I'm pretty excited about.

Fast Wheels FC04 Black finish, 19x8.5 front, 19x9.5 rear
Michelins Pilot Alpin 4 265/40 front, 285/40.

Can't wait to install these puppies on the car tomorrow. You're reminded how massive the tires are on the the M5 when the wheels are off.

I'll post some pics with the kit mounted later this week.

"F90Driver" can you give the part numbers for the rims? and also how much was the full cost was for everything.

does anyone know whats the clearence for the front and back rims? i have pair of vossens from my last 5 series. they are 20'. i was running 245 in the front and 275 in the back. so i need to know what has to be the width clearance of the rim for the front and back.

What car did you use the wheels on? The F90 bolt pattern changed to 5x112 from the F10 platform which was 5x120. Before you buy tires make sure the wheels will work.

yea it was from the f10. thats why when i asked someone they told me the same thing that the bolt pattern changed. guess those rims are useless now.

any suggestions of what i should do? i have rim and tire insurance on the current setup that comes with the car.

You'll likely need to invest in a new winter tire setup. I would guess that you might void the tire and wheel insurance if you swap the stock tires for winter tires on those rims.

For a winter wheel setup you have two options from my perspective:
1. Buy a BMW OEM per-assembled winter set if you can find one. BMW and Michelin bungled the launch, so inventory didn't start coming in until mid-November. I finally gave up and canceled my order and bought the components to build my own.

2. Build a set. The tough thing is finding wheels that will fit. There's not a lot of aftermarket wheels that have been confirmed to fit the F90. I ended up buying OEM 706M wheels from a board vendor and got tires and TPMS from Tire Rack.

Went into BMW Service just earlier today. They said my warranty won't void and anytime will be covered as long as its on my rim and car. So I'm thinking of just buying all season tires and putting them on these rims. i think its the best way to go.

If you find an all season for this car let us know. So far all I’ve seen is either square or under-rating. I’d strongly consider a good AS as my year-round tire if I could get proper size and load ratings.

I've checked tire rack and only ones i see is the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS.

I see what your saying about the under rating.Thats the only option for staggered as i see.

IDK if we can go square setup on the OEM rims. If we can please someone advise us. Looking to buy tires within a day or two.

I’m hoping there are more AS options in Spring, but if there aren’t by September I will buy another set of wheels for dedicated winters.

My car has been at the port in Baltimore for about 2 weeks waiting for the winter tires to be installed. Not a fun time waiting for the tires to be available....

So here are the pictures with the wheels on, looks really nice.

You should know this though, the clearance of the calipers with the interior of the wheel (circumference, not spokes) was crazy tight in the front. 1.5mm (!) at the most, which I thought didn't make sense. The shop I got them from sold me a pair of 15mm spacers, which I honestly would have preferred not needing (and paying for)... Clearance is good now, about 1 cm, and the car does look better. The front wheels were quite recessed without the spacers.

Now, Fast makes these wheels with an offset of 45 instead of the 35 I got - don't know why the shop didn't order those. I would absolutely recommend getting the 45 offset. Otherwise, the kit is perfect. From my short outings, I would say the Alpin 4 is an excellent tire on snow and ice.

Separately, I was told that the GTS G509s would fit as well.

PM me if you want the name of the shop in the Montreal area I got the kit from.

Hey Cacou, I’m interested if you were satisfied with your winter set-up in the end? My f90 is coming in next week and I want to get my winter tire options straightened out before then so I don’t have to stress in November. I see you mention to go with the 45 offset on the F04s. They look good. Kinda like a painted comp wheel and does look great against the MBB paint. Thanks in advance!

any info guys on best all season high performance tires for the M5 ??
I was disappointed to find out that DWS continental don't have our tire sizes
I have used them in past on a lot of cars and had no issues year round
trying to avoid getting a dedicated wheel/tire winter set

I’d say the best all-season tires available in the F90’s oem size is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+

However, it seems that none of the all-season tires currently available in 285/35/20 including the Michelins mentioned above have the proper load rating to at least match the load rating of oem tires. While this may not be an issue in actual use, it still potentially compromises safety especially if you have a full load of passengers and trunk full of cargo. Run all-season in oem sizes at your own risk.

Do you mean 255/45/19? That would be similar to 285/40/19. 255/50/19 is X5 size.

255/50/19 is 6.19% bigger than the oem 265/40/19 front winters, so I'd rather go with 255/45/19 than 255/50/19.
