F90 Trunk Mat/Liner
I suspect since this model is been around so many years you guys pretty much now know what’s the best things going out there for this. I prefer something rubberized, so heavy things can’t slide around. What do you recommend for a trunk protection mat or a liner?

I’ve experimented with both OE and WT floor mats and cargo liners. I currently keep OE BMW ones in the front seats at all times, and in the rear seats generally. If I am going to haul stuff that could spill, be messy, put messy things back there, I use the one piece one from WT that covers the hump, then I switch back to OE when done. I know you didn’t ask about floor mats but I am just telling you because I do the same thing with the trunk because my view on the products as compared for the OE ones are the same. The BMW one day to day, and if I’m putting something particularly messy back there, I’ll pop in the WT. For both the rear seat floor mat and the cargo liner, they are thinner than BMWs so I would say there less resistant to, say, puncture, but they do cover more area than the BMW ones. The WTs certainly don’t have the heft in your hands that the BMW ones do. However, WT goes up and around the edges more, even though it’s not as heavy duty. My BMW fronts on my previous M5 looked a little raggedy after two winters, so I threw them out and replaced them then. Obviously not an issue for you. Link for the BMW one is illustrative only, you may find it priced better elsewhere. There are definitely others on here who can chime in on this. Some people definitely use ones that aren’t either of these: 3D Maxpider, etc. EDIT — “threw” — sorry, this was dictated!

You’re welcome! I would say for that specific purpose, the BMW one is best. I have a trunk organizer between the wheel wells that fits perfectly. I use a clean looking bungee cord to help keep it from shifting backwards, and it does not slip.

Rocking this trunk mat and I love it. Very grippy and plush. Plus looks great and doesn’t get those white discoloration scratches weathertech rubber can get.

Maverik259 was exactly who I was thinking about when I said that some people use others they love. Glad he chimed in here.

I’m going to see if I can find out what type of material it’s made of later today. I hope you can just lay it in there also without doing anything else. No Velcro attachments and things like that. Something like that would be perfect for the back of an SUV also for dogs and such.

Use the tie down rings and bungee cords to hold the box in place.

+1 with pbonsalb. Even if you don’t get a slippery one, get the OE spiderweb cargo net . Great for holding everything down. Especially if you have, for example, grocery bags you want to keep upright without spilling.

I just received my TuxMat!
Too bad they sent me a Dodge Charger mat by mistake. I knew something was funky when the mat looked much larger than in the pictures. The good news is that TuxMat customer service answered their phone right away, apologized, and promised to ship out the correct part ASAP. |

It is not slippery. I frequently buy 5gal water jugs from Lowe’s/Home Depot and put them in the back on the tuxmat and they don’t move an inch. So much grip they fall over from time time instead of sliding. Haha
