Don't forget the Monster Energy Drink seat covers and matching steering wheel wrap!. Actually I think I could "get away with it" but definitely a lot cleaner without. I did clean it up about 1/2 way there myself by hand after this pic (in direct sunlight)and sent pics to guy who does paint correction and ceramic coating. He said he can get it out no problem so we'll see. Or I might end up wrapping satin black whole car as I've been contemplating anyway
I had similar residue after removing my factory spoiler the other day. Rubbing compound and some elbow grease got it out nicely. I ended up doing the whole trunk and ceramic coated it as the whole car was recently coated. Looks brand new now. Just take your time!

Refreshing this. Recently purchased '22 M5C, first owner had several cf parts put on at port, including low profile cf trunk lip. Just took me 4! hours to remove it, which I suspect was betalink. It has damaged clearcoat, almost like the clearcoat is raised where betalink was layed. Fingers crossed a wet sand/heavy cutting pad by a pro will fix. Did others have success w this route? Anyone have to go full respray of top of trunk to mitigate? I'm installing cf m pro sport, which mounts off the top side instead of top. Any further advice besides this thread appreciated.

No need to suspect it was beta link, if it was port installed it 100% was beta link lol. Sadly that's just what happens with beta link, it'll take the paint/ clear with it when removing. Not much you can do, and you might need a full respray (there have been some people that posted before about having to do it)

My shop works closely with a master painter who restores and works on paint for 7-8fig vehicles. He thinks it is salvageable. Will potentially add additional clearcoat into the slight depressions, 2000-3000 wet sand, etc and see where we stand. Trying to avoid respray. They tackle it this week during paint correction/ppf etc.

Will post back with results. Fingers crossed.
