Looking for solutions for hot idrive knob

Does anyone else on here have an issue with the idrive knob getting hot in the summertime? I did a search on here and couldn't find anything. So I did a search on google and couldn't find anything either. My knob gets so hot it's painful to touch. Yeah, yeah I must have tender hands. But in any case, I would have thought someone has designed a silicone cover for it. I do see covers but I have no way to tell if it's going to be just as hot as they are plastic and not silicone. I saw a couple but they didn't mention F90 so I'm curious if the knobs are all the same size.

I’ve never had this issue on any of the two F90 M5’s I’ve owned.

I would have the dealer take a look, if you have not already.

The solution is to get the black ceramic one from the G30 🙂👀

I live in Las Vegas which is considerably hotter than Colorado during the summer...and this is not an issue. Maybe if I put my hand on it and hold it there after the car sat in the sun for a while sure but why would you keep your hand on the knob? Just touch the screen.

The knob is my primary interface with SiriusXM. Because I like to scroll through the music anyway, I just use the knob for everything now and have gotten used to it. So my fingers are always on that knob while driving.

I really am shocked that nobody else has this issue. It does make sense now not being able to find solutions for it if I'm the only one.

Mine is larger too. Went with a lambskin cover in order to be able to feel the knob as if nothing was there.
