2020 M5 Comp to a 2024 M3 CS...
So I picked up the option on the local dealers M3 CS allocation and the mark up was palatable. Question is, do I keep the F90 or go all in with the M3 CS until the Hybrid M5 Wagon is available...?
M3 CS specs: BSM, gold wheels, Red steel brakes. Delivery on June 15. I may need to wrap it for the color to pop!! Pics of the F90 for attention...

Your F90 is absolutely stunning! Really well done! Not sure I could part ways with it if I were in your shoes.
I can’t speak to the CS, but I prefer the f90 over g80/82 that I drove before getting mine. |

I would have gone for the black wheels and gold-caliber brakes. Please post pics of your M3 CS when it arrives. Thx.

I passed on my allocation for the M3 CS this time around. The car just didn't do it for me, but that is all personal preference.
I am also going all in on the next M5 Touring. Very excited for that!

He owns the M5 CS now and probably did not want to subject his family to those bucket seats for another 5 years.

I just couldn’t get on board with the exterior styling and limited variety of colors.
I already compromised with the M5 CS color. Didn’t want to do it again. (Yes, I know, color choices are petty and subjective and I’m okay with that).

Did seeing the XM in person make you like it and claim it’s gorgeous? I just cannot for the life of me love the styling and ever say gorgeous about it. Granted I haven’t seen in in person yet so that’s why I’m asking. The G80 on the other hand in person really made me change my mind and I can say I do really really like the aggressive styling and it’s grown in me tremendously. Having a hard time believing the XM will do the same but who knows.

[QUOTE=shawnhayes;30033018]Didn’t think I’d like it. In person, MUCH better. $110,000? Yes. $163,000, let me think about how much extra money I have…
Shawn Makes sense. 163k for an suv it better be great in every aspect. Let alone the Label Red coming for 185k starting price with the same acceleration as the X5/6M and red lipstick everywhere. Idk if I can get behind them. Time shall tell |

Check throttle house’s review. They both dislike that they both like it. But they do. So do I. Wish I didn’t. It’s too much. More than my M5 CS? Really? Shawn |

I realize that BMW is "testing" the new S68 engine in the XM. Sticking to the "S engine only in M cars" principle is why I believe they're forced to call an XM vs a 50i variant. And milking money by marketing to the M loyalist that can afford sub 200k price tag and justify the many compromises to flex on their neighbors. This is BMW's Urus. I hope the S68 in the new M5 will making more than 500hp naturally, being fully forged. Theoretically it should be making same if not more power than the current engine, plus the electric motors, should be a nearly 800hp M5. |

I don't agree. X5M70e would be fine. Some of this is a technology demonstrator, experiment, whatever. If you hated the i8, you'll hate this. Similarly overpriced for it's performance. But it was BEAUTIFUL. If you like this one, you do. It may be slower than similar priced, but the effect is strange. I guess it's like vanGogh. You either like it or you don't. Shawn |

As far as a drivers car the M3 is really hard to beat. The car inspires confidence and handles incredibly well. However for a daily driver its far from ideal IMO. The stiffness and carbon buckets are why I say that. Besides that it would be a heck of a daily.

So I sold the M5 two months after taking delivery of the CS and only driving the M5 once. I only drove to the airport for a day trip and didn't want to leave the CS at Newark Airport. My wife hates the buckets but I absolutely love the M3 CS as a daily. 10 months and 8000 miles of pure joy. I did miss having a green car in the garage so we upgraded my wife's 2020 BSM X7 40 to a 2024 BRG X7 M60.
BRG and the Beast!! Plus a pick of the M5 with its new owner in Beverly Hills!
