This is the 991.2 TTS billet wheel.

It is a bad dude for the size.

The 992 TTS wheel is 61mm, so it’s larger, but not significant.

As a reference, you will only gain roughly 45rwhp going from the 991.2 TTS billet wheel to a Mac Daddy 68mm Tial wheel. Again, on pump 93. Add meth, 109,etc and it will gain more.

I used Sam since he has been soooo helpful getting the custom tune the way I want it.

I did get to learn the follies of centerlock wheels personally. Actually not bad with the correct tools.

Sam got them from him, I think Eric is the BBS distributor but maybe Sam has German direct.

CL follies, like the tq minimums?

Yes. All of my garage stuff maxed at 250. It takes 440 to tighten them and it takes roughly 600ftlbs lbs to break them loose due to fiction, heat, time, etc.

600 is a lot.

Porsche just released the Drag Cd and base weight without any options :

Cd went from 0.31 to 0.33

Weight went to 3636Lbs. Add the typical glass top, Berm, FAL , vented seats and you have 3716LBS.

The added weight is necessary when son of 918 arrives. The weight and size adds prestages the space and strength needed.Trans is good to go. That series, although even more weight will be added due to motors and batteries....will be very interesting in raw acceleration.

992 is definitely more refined.

“The MAN “ at Porsche:

"We have said the next 911 will add a hybrid version. That will be the highest-performance 911 of all," Blume told Top Gear. "So it won't have the extra weight of batteries, it will be a non-plug-in hybrid. We have the experience to do that—look at the racing 919."

911 boss August Auchleitner has already confirmed that the hybrid 992 will adhere to Porsche's electrified model formula, which involves a disc-shaped electric motor slotted between the car's eight-speed PDK transmission and flat-six engine. Said six-cylinder mill will presumably be more powerful than the one coming to the 2020 911 Turbo S, which Car and Driver reports will produce 641 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.

I had no idea CL wheels needed that much torque. I did a quick look for a torque wrench, 100 to 600 ft lbs, 4 FEET long! I guess with that length a pipe extension isn't needed!

Ive had both and agree about "feel" . I wont say the Turbo S lacks soul, instead it lacks sound and thats easily remediated. All my Turbo S's had modded exhausts to bring back that LeMans style sound. Is it as good as a GT3- no but it fixes my main issue. The GT3 is more track focused and really requires one to drive it at 8 or 9/10ths to get the rpms in the right range. Its not a cruiser around town with its lower tq rating... for me. Its a great car but more race and less GT while the Turbo is the opposite.

While I did the switch for family reasons, I have to say I am enjoying the Turbo S e-Hybrid more than the 991.1 Turbo S. The car has a lot of grip and it drives like it is on rails. While I have not taken it to the mountains yet, around town and on the highways I don't think I'm losing any performance and I'm finding I drive it faster because it feels more effortless. Lot of low end torque from the electric motor offsets the turbo lag and makes city driving and weaving through traffic a breeze.

Plus with my 991.1 TTS I was getting 11-12mpg and now I'm running 24mpg with the same driving style.
Got to drive the Panny Turbo S, I found it to be more of a luxury barge than I expected. It does handle pretty well for what it is, but it is far too similar to my current M5 F90 to justify. It is like the mixture of a M5 F90 with a 7 Series.

In the end between the Panny and my M5 F90, I am more inclined to keep the M car. I think the way a 911 feels is unmatched by the Panny or the M5, both come close in many regards (and I do like the Panny's steering and suspension more than the M5's) but it is not the real deal.

I almost switched to the AMG GT63 S, but its price made it pretty much unjustifiable.

The truth is that I need a usable, fast, luxurious and fun vehicle, and the M5/RS7/E63 S are pretty close to perfect here, but perfection is achieved only in the 911.
M8 Comp in GC spec didn't make your list, not a fan?

I have had a 991.1 C2S and a 991.2 C2S and I can tell you that the 991.2 generation had a ton of significant improvements; the nav and electronics, the sport response treatment on the steering wheel, the rear axel steer, obviously more power from one generation to the next.

but the thing that really made the difference to me was a much more compliant suspension and just generally better build quality.

I would say that a car is a silly thing to put yourself into financial strain over and frankly the simple mention of that makes me thing perhaps you should apply a bit of delayed gratification and buy the car you want when you can comfortably afford it. These are depreciating assets and ya, the 991.2 is cooler but guess what, the 992 is way cooler than any 991 turbo model. After a few weeks of driving a car you acclimate, those difference fade away.

I agree, while the 991.1 was phenomenal, the 991.2 brought one of, if not the best implementation from NA to turbo and was another step in both performance and even upped the suspension yet again. I will tell you, my 991.1S, 991.2S, 718 GTS and my 991.2 T all have/had a suspension which I find to be well above what my M5C is both in terms of comfort and precision. It’s really incredible how the 911s can be so stiff yet comfortable and a car like the M5 crashes around.
The 992 simply built upon the 991.2 yet again.

I just added a DSC suspension controller just for the Launch Control Option. Was very surprised what Real Time Control did for the ride and handling as I was very happy with the stock system. Took my 991.2 TTS to another level. Many have reported it cut 2 seconds off of their times at VIR. ~ 5 to 7 off the Ring.
