I would go for the 991.2 regular Turbo. As Vic said you can always tune it.

Yes sir, different strokes for different needs and wants. The 992, If I grab one will be a 12 month car and then the 992.1 Turbo S will be my 6th Porsche Turbo. I dont have patience and the 992 deal Im getting is pretty special.

Conversely, I can get around 42k off a brand new GT63S. A few guys have done the stage 1 ECU tune and are popping off 10.6 at 129 quarters. Its never gonna be as fast as heavily modded M5 but the tune aspect has me thinking cause the car itself is bad ass (polarizing but I like it)
This is what I did. Got a 992 a month ago is my ninth Porsche. Ordering 992 Turbo in July/August this year.

Got a deal myself won't lose much on 992 C2S that I just got.

Love the 992.

Both are great rides, but the 991.2 Turbo S has a 58mm billet compressor wheel, sized from the 997 GT2RS. Makes tuning a bonus.

OP is saying 991.1 TT S or 991.2 regular Turbo. I'd go for the 991.2 reg Turbo over the 991.1 Turbo S :-)

Indeed, that in itself is so damn appealing.

Agreed. You get better PDK factory tuning in a 991.2 Turbo.

It’s going to be a very special ride. I’m more curious about which turbos they put on it. The 58mm billet on the 991.2 TTS supports 650rwhp with a tune on pump. So roughly 700 engine hp. Plus a 3550lb weight.

New TTS will weigh 3675lbs. If they added 2psi to the 58mm to get 640 engine, it will be limited with a tune. But , if they used the 68/70 GT2RS 991.2 turbo , it will be a tune only monster !

Since its a new gen, my first guess is they just bumped the boost. Which is good for the oem lovers but the tuning guys will see lesser gains to your point. Either way the car is going to put up some stooooopid times.

Just read that the 992TTS will have 61mm compressor and 56mm turbine. Same article said the 991TTS has 58.5 compressor and 51mm turbine. So it did not get the GT2RS turbos

Very mild turbo upgrade. Basically, the tune.

Porsche came out saying it is GT2RS' Turbos, and I believe them.
So glad I ordered this car. I would have been an idiot, had I bought a 991.2 Turbo S used (as they are selling for 285k USD), 991.1 Turbo S was 200k USD.

My 992 Turbo S build came out at 315k USD.

Where did post the Turbo info ?

The GT2RS has been physically measured at 68/70 by a known tuner.

Everything I’ve seen posted from Porsche is the 992 TTS is 61mm compressors.

It will probably be as fast as a tuned 991.2.
Porsche 991.2 Turbo S was as fast as a 991.1 Turbo S + Tune.

This car will is claimed to be at 641HP, but I believe it will have something close to 670-680. Porsche always underrates their cars.

Mine is a bit of an odd duck since I ordered it as light as possible. No glass top, FAL, seat fans or Burm. Those add up to 80lbs of options.

Mine weighs 3570lbs with a full tank of fuel. Then I dropped 90 more lbs with wheels, lithium, moly, etc.

So 3480 lbs with a full tank. Can hit 3390 by dropping fuel.

Bone stock it ran 10.4 at 131mph before the weight loss and tune.

A stock 992 TTS will not run with it now.

Now tune the 992......wheeee
