M Performance Pro spoiler, did you add tape?

I notice this M Performance Pro spoiler that just arrived for my car only has these two small pieces of double sided tape, one on each end. Is that really enough to keep this thing on the car long term and at high speed? Thought I'd ask for feedback on here before possibly adding another piece or two on this thing to be safe. Don't want to overdo it of course if I don't have to in case I want to remove it later.

The pro spoiler is supposed to be mounted with betalink, not double sided tape. The cavity is too deep for double sided tape.

I've seen people mount it with double sided tape, by putting multiple layers of it. It looked ghetto with a gap, and I don't think it's safe.

r33_RGSport can confirm!

I have install those on 2 vehicle with double tape ( high bound with adhesive paperer ) and no issues at high speed , when removed from first vehicle notice that middle part was not attached , so for second car I double layer tape in the middle and is not going anywhere . Just few cents.

At least BMW says that betalink is required for the install. That's def the safe option.

BMW says everything essentially needs betalink cuz it's their proprietary stuff. While it may be recommended it is not required. People have been installing spoilers with 3M tape for ever and if installed correctly there are no issues.

I installed mine over 6 months ago with several bouts over triple digits and it still stands. It's all in the prep.

as an opinion, I did 3m double side tape on my spoiler on the past 3 series,
held up for 12 years. And I don't drive slow, lol

Definitely recommend betalink. Body shop said 3M tape wouldn't work well and used some type of 3M glue. Needless to say I did a run well past 100mph and one side of the spoiler was loose. Took it back to the shop and they redid it with betalink.

6500 miles and many washes and rain storms and a full winter and the 3M tape is holding just fine.

I tried double sided tape at first. Was loose in less than 2 days in the Florida sun. Used betalink with the two small spots of tape underneath to help the initial adhesion and it's rock solid now.
