RE: Tune + Exhaust

Just picked up a x5M Competition. I understand this is the m5 forum...but we share the motor, and my questions are performance oriented.

Trying to decide the best path for power/sound.

I have a local "world renowned" tuner...so I will be likely using him for a tune. Is there any issue with doing that? He has already tuned a few m5's.

My question is - what about downpipes, exhaust, intakes, intercoolers. I am hearing that the car is fairly efficient as it sits + a tune. I'd like to still get catless downpipes for sound. What is the best brand out there for quality / fitment / performance and sound. Price is secondary.

ER?
Brondex?
RK?
BM3?
Any others?

Will a tune and downpipes pretty much tap me out? Any other "obvious" bolt on mods I should be contemplating (not interested in bigger turbos)

I'll go with a set of gamma downpipes and a BM3 tune.
Also you can maybe get a discount if you get both of them

Is Gamma a brand? Never heard of them...

why Hydra? how many f90's have you seen running around with a Hydra tune?

I'll just leave that there...

You should go with a reputable tuner or a piggypack

I have been helping them a lot on product development.

Latest one was for F95 X5M.

I've installed the prototype to my local test car a couple months ago.

Steve tuned my Porsche...ran like a top and made big power. I do know there are a few guys around with his tune.

He is...a world renowned tuner...and he tunes anything/everything.

I'd think that is better than a piggyback, no?
