Here is the headlight issue I mentioned, circled. This was a quick picture I took as I was backing out of the garage, tonight. That dark strip just gets bigger as the distance increases.

The orientation of the high and low beam output in the headlights is relatively level, so there shouldn't be much (or any) gap in the light pattern at any distance.

Just very disappointing initial quality.

Is this a result of the light design or an issue with the adjustment? I wonder if anyone else has this issue.

No idea.... My dealer has been made aware of the issue. It is going in for maintenance and the other problems I have (front emblem and surround camera view), in just over a week.

I would think it is a easy adjustment of the high beam, but who knows. It isn't correct, so I will let everyone know what the resolution is.

Stupid question. Anyone with a 2021 get the remote start to work? Pressing the lock button 3 times on mine does nothing.

I can't find anything in the cars menus to enable it. I even hit the voice button and say "remote start" and the car comes back and says this feature is not available on the car, or something like that.

I just looked at my window sticker and it says it is included. I guess add it to the list of things the dealer is going to look at, next week.

It's hidden in a nonsensical menu for climate control:

Enabling the automatic engine start function
The automatic engine start must be enabled before
using the system. Otherwise, the engine cannot switch on automatically
to climatize the car's interior.
Via iDrive:
1. "CAR"
2. "Settings"
3. "Climate control"
4. "Preconditioning/ventilation"
5. If necessary, "Remote Engine Start"
6. "Starting engine for clim. control"
7. Confirm the disclaimer.

and then

Via vehicle key
The system can be switched on and off using
the vehicle key.
Press the button on the vehicle key three
times within 1 second.
After operating the vehicle key, it will take approximately
3 seconds until the engine is switched on.
To switch off the system, press the button again
three times.

Awesome.. Thanks!!! Will give that a try a little later.

Just idiotic why the car would tell me its not available when I hit the voice button.

Picked it up from its first service a few hours ago.

They performed the break in service, and corrected the 360 camera view issue.

The wrong emblem for the front grill was ordered. The correct one is coming from Germany, so a 2 week wait begins.

The headlights are a mess. They "adjusted" them. Dealership wanted to have a "M certificed" tech take the car overnight, which I politely declined. Since the car is going back in a week or two for the emblem, I would evaluate the lights myself. Not to thrilled to turn the keys over to a tech for a evening drive.

Anyways, nothing is changed on the lights. In fact i think the low beams are lower now. But the same gap between the high and low remain. Popping the hood, I only see one adjustment screw. So can the high and low even be adjusted independently? I am going to mess with the screw this weekend, to see what it does.

I adjusted my previous M550i, so I know it can be done. But from memory it moved the entire low and high beam assembly, not them independently. Maybe I have a defective set??? The passenger side is definitely worse the the driver.

Can anyone else in a US 2021 (non laser) confirm their high and low beams do not have a black strip between the beams?

Here is a picture while moving. Not the best, but you get the idea. Am I crazy regarding this? None of my previous cars have this. My wifes 2019 X5 with lasers look nothing like this.

It is weird for me. Driving with the beams in auto, show the gap more distinct when the highs come on.

If I am stopped and click the high beams on, the gap is there, but not as pronounced. The edges between the beams aren't as crisp as when the car is moving and in auto.

My guess on that is it's a visual trick.

When moving, it's easier to see contrast differences than when still. I doubt the actual gaps are changing.

After showing "In Transit" for 2 weeks or so, now it's showing "At Port"-IOW, it's gone backward! I'm assuming that's just a glitch, as I'm supposed to pick it up at PC exactly two weeks from today...
