Side Skirts

Has anyone put the cf side skirts on? Does it use existing bolt holes?

The BMW M Performance carbon side skirts require 13 holes (6mm drill bit) to be made on each side for the screws, per BMW instructions. They also come with double sided tape an addition to the screws.

Yah... I would just pop the bottom part off and install it with bolts and loctite. The double-sided tape creates gaps and with the nut/screw(or bolt whatever) you will not have to worry about it. Takes about 10 minutes more per side during install and about 10 bux in additional hardware, but WAY worth it IMO.

Great question, I have been looking for one for months. I am not a carbon fibre fan. I bet there would be good demand for a straight gloss black one.

Someone mentioned in another thread that the plastic skirts available for the G30 fit perfectly and can be painted glass black

Sweet. Match the gloss wheel that you have.
Did you do PPF on them?

ASAP please. You'll regret it later since it is gloss black.
I left mine matte black, because it often got accidentally kicked on the way out.
Also road debris.

Do the g30 matte side skirts have the same screw pattern as the carbon fiber one for the f90 M ?
My dealer told me they do not and would require double the installation time. I say BS

They are the same, because some of F90 M5 owners that doesn't like CF bought the G30 version and bolt it up.

Jl motoring replicas. He installed them fairly easy. 3m tape and 8 screws. He said he knows they use more but felt like it was secure enough with 8 and didn't wanna do any additional drilling. Been using his parts for 7 years and he's installed everything. Never had an issue.

No matter how solid or how many screws you use for installation, you do need to be careful exiting the car not to kick down on top of the skirt- it will break away if excessive force is used. More an issue for naοve passengers than the primary driver.
