new belt - How much
My 325i developed a very noisy squeal yesterday.
Just popped the hood to discover the belt is half off and frayed. Looks like work to get into? |

Not very expensive and you can DIY it.
But before you order parts, find out why the belt is destroyed. Is your oil filter housing leaking? |

Avoid driving it, it will snap at any moment and leave you stranded with no power steering
Book it in and only drive it to the appointment. |

If I recall you've had the valve cover gasket done as well... may be worth checking the oil cooler gasket too. |

Mine snapped and looked perfectly fine, and it snapped when idling in a car park, so finger crossed you make it

Don't ignore the squeal.
I was lucky. apparently the head of the bolt had sheared off and left just enough metal to stop the wheel from departing and taking the belt with it. |
