Lol y'all crack me up. The M5 coulda lost by a mile and y'all woulda found some way to say it's a scam. Which is fine. They don't call it home field advantage for nothing.

However I just find the M5 exterior to be so bland and not much different than its many many predecessors. It's a shame really. Do love the interiors. Heck it's why I bought a bimmer this go around.

They're all phenomenal cars...good grief...the CTS has the best chassis (some say by far) and won the MOST FUN TO DRIVE category, all for MUCH less than the other cars.

Yes, M5 is limited to 190 as well and even without the pack can be software modified.

Yes, M5 is equal if not faster

Yes, M5 has 5 proper seats and a trunk

Yes, M5 is big sedan with a proper family behaviour and a switchable RWD / AWD transmission

Yes, it has high quality interior with lots of goodies and wonderful things (that add weight) leather and proper materials, not cheap plastic like the Tic Tac plastic used in that shitty GTR. Yet is a agile contender.

Yes, M5 is comfortable and able to preserve your kidneys.

Awww did I hurt your feelings, we all know bmws always take a beating from the GTR, especially the M-Cars.

Finally, after losing so many comparison tests to the e63/rs7 for 7 years and the poor sales that ensued STUBBORN bmw decided to add awd to the M5. Well it’s about time. And just to set the record straight as you seem to be misinformed, the dash , seats and inlays are all leather on the GTR and they have gone 6s in the 1/4 mile and high 7s driven to the track and home so no comparison performance wise....

LOL honey, you did not hurt my feelings.
Have a look at the plastic interior on the GTR and after that check a Ford Focus and please get back and report in here; you will find that you can get a better plastic for less money...
In my circle there is a GTR and is the sheep we all make fun of.
In the end, numbers are not everything, have a look under the skin of a vehicle or talk to a real body-shop guy, he will probably tell you the truth about frame strength and sheet metal used in German cars and their anticorrosive treatment and fabrication process and you beloved Tic Tac GTR. I owned and still own a Japanese, German and English car and the differences between the Europeans and Japanese are obvious for the trained eye.
Bottom line, I am sleeper kind of guy and that's why I love BMW: they build fast sporty sedans and blend the perfect balance between luxury and sporty. Once you lean too much on one side you start to loose the other. It is an art to know how to blend them perfectly.
Personally I want luxury and a fast comfortable vehicle, not a kidney breaker with a shitty interior.
If you love it, go for it, I promise I will not even look at it.

Actually yes. IN terms of fast - I am talking trap speed. If I wanted top speed - I would have stated. That. 0-60 is within 1 tenth - but look at those 1/4 ET's. Look at the trap speeds. Not one is in the 10's and not one is 127+ MPH. Talking about anything different from factory is a mod. CBA to DBA GTR - the F90 M5 is quicker and faster in the 1/4 mile - stock for stock.

good point there. honestly the long and beloved e46 sounds like ass. it always sounded like ass and it sounded like even more ass with aftermarket parts.

but it's probably the most idolized m3 generation. people get hung up on the wrong weak points. the f8x is a precision tool while being able to do all the daily driving needs one would require. sounds like a fucking good deal to me
