Yeah it was a very refreshing change. I definitely prefer having them as my dealer as they are super close. Overall 5/5 experience.

a quick tip
if you are ordering from out of state dealer, you can ask them to reroute the car to a local dealer,
that will save you transport money
I did that when ordered M2 LCI
dealer in Upstate NY , car rerouted to local dealer in town
otherwise , would have cost me 600 dollars trasport

Courtesy Delivery. Lately it has been rather difficult for fellow forum members to get dealers to agree to that without a charge that rivals just shipping the car.

That's too bad, but if I were ordering a car from a long distance dealer then I'd rather pay the same price to get it officially delivered than roll the dice on yet another delivery company.

The biggest problem is the lack of information on dealer site... They have no clue whats going on and say things that are obviously not true

I'm hoping to do this. Dealer in my town is at MSRP but 20+ wait list. I'm buying from a TX dealer who's been great. It'll get delivered here or I'll spend two fun days getting it home.

Now.....to swap out those 788's!

From what I remember it is always up to whether the receiving dealership is willing to do it and they almost never are willing to do so without a fee.

I must say my experience with buying cars before has been very smooth and easy. Both with BMW and Mercedes. Granted normal non M or AMG cars. Boring stuff.

However with this brand new high demand bloody M2 Comp it's nothing like it. Sales guys have no clue about the vehicle and there seems to be no real process for "getting on the list" or at least its not transparent to me (and other customers)
i've reached to 5 dealerships in the Philly area. 2 are still in play and 3 i've completely given up on.
For my main one I went in to the dealer in February to get me on the "list" and since then i've received mixed messages about my spot and I am still, as of right now, without an order.

I didn't think i would have to work so hard to pay 60 grand for a car...
Anyways - Any sales guys in Philly area wanna sell me an M2 Comp, I'm game.

It's a sellers market. My dealer said only 470 cars nationwide for the year. They also covet allocations for various reasons and don't want a formal list/deposit system.

I mean, what if the GM decides to sell one to his cousin who puts it on ebay for $10k over MSRP? Hard to do that when you have formal list/deposit system.

Today a rep from SBMW called me about my M3 and wanted to buy it since their used inventory is super low. I said I would sell my M3 if they locked in and guaranteed me an M2c.

Waiting on that call but I bet they will low ball my trade in value.

We only have anecdotal evidence but I do agree - it sure does seem that way; guess I got lucky with courtesy delivery.

Willing to bet a case of beer that your dealer is wrong about that!

Not so sure about the "470 cars for the year" claim. AFAIK, there are already 512 initial allocations confirmed by couple of CAs on the forum. So far, these allocations span over July, August, September, and early October. I think second batch of allocations will be for late October, November and December. I don't know how many but maybe couple hundred more for the rest of the year.

That means (in general) about 1 allocation per month per dealer, ask what your position in the waiting list and you can predict when your number is up.

Many on the list will drop or pass though, once the lease number is out (MF likely to go up and RV may go down a bit in coming months)

I found 3 MSRP allocations in 2 days when I decided to order this week. 1 of them immediate 2 later this summer. Screw paying ADM just keep looking.

My SA emailed me last week and said he had an M2C or an M4CS allocation I could have if I wanted it. Went in to see him and spec'd out a car at MSRP with no problems. They even offered to pay three lease payments (I always lease cars)...some deal they have going on right now. They went so far as to commit to a buy out price now for my LCI in October, when the M2C is scheduled to arrive. In the end I decided not to do it because it just doesn't make any sense financially and my LCI is heavily modded, so the cost to "undo" everything seems like quite a waste. Long story short (too late)...there are excellent dealers out there that understand the fact that if they treat their customers right...they will get repeat business.

Anyone else being told that they are charging premiums on top of MSRP? My CA told me they are asking for $10,000 (cut to $5,000 since I’m a returning customer) and they want a $5000 deposit for the second and last M2C allocation of the dealer. I feel like someone must be willing to sell for MSRP 🤔

That's BS. Many of us here aren't paying a penny over MSRP. I already have everything in writing including a purchase agreement signed by me and the dealer. In fact, my dealer is doing their best for me to take advantage of as many incentives as possible. I'm sure you can find another dealer willing to do MSRP.
