wow and i just saw the cost for that stage 3...thats waaaaayy over priced...devils own is around 330 vs snows 690!!!!???

No, I don't have the fancy stage 3 bling screen controller. Ours is just a box controller, part of what they call the stage 2 kit.

Their stage 2 kits come with progressive controllers. It's based on application. I've installed stage 2 kits (on a VW GTI) where the kit comes with MAF voltage adjustments (tap MAF wire). Our kit was not an off the shelf kit. It was pieced together with existing stuff they had and we worked with their engineer to get everything working together.

I can't comment on pricing as I have no idea how much they sell for (we didn't pay for ours :biggrin.

Honestly, I think you should talk to whatever tuner you use (Burger, Vishnu etc...) and get someone to make a file for the methonal. Without the proper tuning, you're not going to benefit from it.

its not a waste to have water/meth if your dont have a tune for it...you still get benefit from the cooling(70 degrees cooling on average) and the cleaning of the combustion chambers..but to really get the hp out of it then yes you wanna tune that raises the boost and advance timing etc

I will be picking up my 135I tomorrow and we will be developing a specific kit for the 135I and 335I. I will do dyno testing as well to see gains on a stock vehicle. We will be developing the fuel mileage feature into the kit as well.

On my Elise I was able to go from 35 to 38.5 MPG with the kit. We will adapt to the BMW to see if we can get some mileage gains as well. Mileage should always be secondary to performance, but if you can save a few dimes on fuel...why not?

Now on an upgraded GT30 unit we have been able to push the car very hard even in the brutal heat of Arizona. (It was 110* today!)

Without making any changes to the tune already installed on the car, the VW ECM has had no problem trimming out extra fuel with methanol injection present. This has been verified by my on board wideband AFR gauge as well as by monitoring the AFR recorded by the ECM. Ultimately I would love a custom tune but unfortuneately that technology does not exist for the ME7 or the ME9 ECM's.

Should the BMW ECM have this same capability then out of the box this will make a great power adder. However, if the BMW ECM does not have this ability then the air fuel ratio will certainly be rich.

All said, methanol injection is an excellent way to increase performance on a forced induction vehicle and I am very happy to see it already being discussed for this platform. We are currently looking into purchasing a 135 and will definetly go that route should that become a reality.

As we research the car I will be around the boards a bit so if there are questions on methanol injection I am happy to answer as long as the question/answer conforms to the rules of the site.

I know this is an old thread but any improvement in gas mileage?

sounds promising, will it be able to use the factory windshield washer fluid reservoir?

There seems to be little or no room under the hood so at this point it looks like trunkmount only. I will have more ideas later but I dont see an engine bay option.

controller:

gauge installed (temporary location, eventually plan to integrate into the nav screen)

so do you have it up and running then? any gas mileage numbers, for me the extra power is definitely nice, but 10% better gas mileage means I can go one more day of commuting, and wait until the weekend to get gas, which goes miles for the convenience factor

no I dont

I have it installed on the Lotus. I went from 35 to 38.5 MPG on the highway with just a few adjustments. I believe I can increase gas mileage, however I only have the gauge installed. I wanted to see the boost.

The water kit will be installed as time goes by and I will update once I have any numbers on the 1.

I have not read through this entire thread so please bare with me.

We have been experimenting a meth option for some time. We are now using it on a majority of our kits. We have also tuned a few vehicles which are running meth.

Here is an example: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...74&postcount=1 .

We will be releasing a meth kit which will bolt up into your trunk and provide perfect fitment. We will also provide a more aggressive tune to compliment the meth kit via our Active Processor.

I am guessing it's just the controller in stock and not the 135i-specific kit?

Its universal. I dont have the time to setup a 135I specific at this time. Franky, the controller is completely configurable, there are multiple injectors included, the pump is adjustable from 100-250 PSI and there is more than 15 feet of hose included. In otherwords, nothing really needs to be made specific.

Our 135 I specific will be a while away and will be a high end kit because it will have a full failsafe, injection based on RPM/Boost, etc.

I think most will dig the CMGS/VARI-COOL II simple setup.

Okay guys it's been some time where are we at on this. I have a coolingmist system all wired and ready to rock. Trunk mount 1.5gallon with CMGS and custom twin injectors thanks to some great customer service. I'm just waiting for a little silicone hose that Stett didn't include with my charge pipe. My plan is to head to the drag strip in a couple weeks filler her up with euro 100 (approx US 97 Octane) and set my meth with 5psi min 14psi max. Then put my JB3 on map 7 and let her rip. Any thoughts feelings or precautions for this?

nice! The CMGS is really doing well with the 135I. If you got the flow sensor make sure its grounded to the battery as we have found it will not work right grounded to the Chasis on this car.

thanks again!
