Akrapovic sound kit

For those with Akrapovic exhaust systems, how essential is the sound kit?

I'd skip it if I did it again. The exhaust itself sounds great. The sound kit gives you remote control of the flaps. I could never get it to pair . I think the sound kit also changes the tone of the fake exhaust sound.

It comes with the sound kit now. They released an app and you can control the valves from the app. I did not install the sound kit. Never had it before and saw no reason to have it now. I don’t know why you would want to close or open the valves from the app and/or remotely be able to do it but it’s there and available lol.

Is this thing just doing what the valve button in the car does or am I missing something? If so, why would you ever use an app vs press the button?

Yes, that is correct. That is why I chose not to install the sound kit on mine. Apparently, this is recent that they started including it in the box (due to it being available on the app now versus the remote you would normally have to purchase).

I can't think of why you would use the app to open the valves lol.

The dealer never installed the akra sound kit and when I asked him he said the factory valves work.
