Hi all - car has been fine, but after a journey today, got back into the car after an hour on so and on startup, got a “Drivetrain” warning/error come up.

Turned the car off, left for about 10 secs and turned back on and error cleared.

Loads of errors found in BimmerLink, but nothing drivetrain related at the current mileage.

Cleared errors, no further issues.

Anyone had this before and if so, what did it turn out to be?

Have full BMW warranty, so not worried if it’s knackered, but part of me is suspicious of 6 year old battery….I know the cars start to throw up all sorts of errors of the battery isn’t top notch!

Agree I'd be looking at the battery first

Check the voltages and see where they're at; but at 6 years old, its ripe for a change

I've just fitted the Exide 019 AGM battery from Tayna c£160 delivered to my F31 and would highly recommend it - Exide along with a few other makers are OEM for BMW; but without the BMW price

Takes 20mins and you need to ensure you register it to the car (Bimmerlink/Bimmercode, Carly etc) or a decent code reader like the Creator C410 via Amazon for £60 will sort it for you also

Cheers for the reply. Will keep an eye on it and look at Tayna if needed.

Put on charge for 24hrs and although the ctek had completed to stage 7, before going to its trickle cycle, battery was only showing 86% charge in Bimmerlink, up from 73%.
Haven’t had the random drivetrain fault back either.

Sounds like the CTEK has done a good job then

Give it an Italian tune up once in a while and it'll be fine...

My F31s on trickle with my CTEK now as we'll hardly use it over Christmas, so may as well keep it happy
