Putting a dry bar in the former dining room. Cabinets arrived today. Also going to be modifying the kitchen by moving some cabinets around. New countertops all around. Need to adjust a few cabinets doors so don’t mind those.

About the only rooms we have not touched yet so far. Only the guest bedroom and bathroom left after these two. Repainted the entire inside and new floors this year too. After that the place will be a good position for the next few years until we upsize lol. Hope to eventually make this my first rental for better or worse haha.

My cool weather jackets are getting a bit long in the tooth, so the Amazon Fairy put a Carhartt Super Dux Mock-Neck Jacket under my pillow. Anyone recommend a similar style high quality casual jacket I should also look into?

Thanks! I own this guitar - it is a '90s Peavey EVH Standard Wolfgang in Purple Arch Top, made in U.S.A.
I have kept it mostly stock, save for the addition of an FU-Tone brass sustain block. From Wikipedia: The original and top-of-the-line model. Made in the USA. It featured an arched (carved) top, body binding, two knobs (volume and tone), three-way pickup toggle switch, two Peavey/EVH-designed humbucker pickups, oil-finished bird's eye maple neck and fingerboard with dual graphite reinforcement rods, ten-degree tilt headstock, and Schaller mini M6 tuners (with either pearloid or ivory colored buttons). Two base versions were offered: a solid basswood model and a solid basswood/maple cap model. (The maple cap was 5/8" before carving.) Each version could come with either a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo with D-Tuna (d-tuner device) or a tune-o-matic bridge and hard tail piece. Solid basswood Wolfgangs were offered in gloss ivory and gloss black; solid basswood/maple cap Wolfgangs were offered in various transparent figured maple finishes (sunburst, amber, red, purple, blue, green, cherryburst, and black cherryburst) as well as vintage gold and seafoam green. Very occasionally a rejected maple top was painted either gloss black or gloss ivory. I see you have an amp pictured with an acoustic (acoustic-electric?) guitar but do you also have any others? I used to own two of the EVH Wolfgangs but sold one (it was a transparent amber) to a close friend of mine. My other guitar is a Washburn Tanglewood (I don't see many of these) which also happens to be acoustic - electric. My amp = EVH 50 watt EL34 5150 III driving a matching EL34 5150 III dual 12" speaker cabinet. Rock on! Last edited by BMWGUYinCO; 10-16-2023 at 01:42 PM.. |

Say hello to the "winter beater" and semi-daily driver. Picked up this 2008 Toyota Camry for basically nothing. It's got 140k miles. Runs like a champ. Will need an oil change ($25 oil and filter at Walmart) and tires before winter (another $200~ from Walmart).
Gotta kinda love not spending crazy money on maintenance items, gas, and insurance. I'll still be using the 540. When the weather is nice, I'll take the 540 to work/people's houses. When it's bad out, I'll take the Toyota. During the winter, the 540 will be hibernating. Might try to flip the car before winter. If I can't, I'll be keeping it until the wheels don't blow off.

Nothing sexy here, but I'm about to replace a ceiling light in the kitchen. It's an LED that was supposed to last 50,000 hours (easily past my expiration date), but probably didn't last 50 hours.
The good news is the replacement cost only $23 and Mr. Un-Handy (that's me) is able to replace it on his own. I hope the lights that are impossible for me to reach last a lot longer than this one did. <fingers-crossed emoji>

I bought and remodeled a house 5 years ago with high ceilings. I decided I would migrate every light in the house to LED because they last forever and I won't have to change them. Bzzzzz. Wrong. The bulls&*t that they last forever is very stinky.
Yet again a disappointment in a new technology that was supposed to have a longer run life. |

LEDs did last forever when first introduced.
Now with years of manufacturing under their belts, lighting manufacturers have figured out how to make LED products with much less cost, and correspondingly lower life. 100% normal in the manufacturing world. Not great from a consumer's point of view, but I don't see it as stinky BS. We see cost-cutting every day in the automotive world, right? And home appliances, right? Remember Kelvinators? Some are still running today. That means the manufacturer left profit on the table. |

Wide toe box sneaks for working out and walking. Not thrilled with the color, but it beats the other pairs the store had that were electric blue. Can't be too picky when you're buying 13 EEE shoes, I guess. Weird thing is, up until 5 or 6 years ago I wore a 10-1/2. Then my feet started flattening out. Now my size 12W shoes don't fit. If I were to go to snorkeling, I wouldn't need fins now.
