I don't remember what fill is.. but I'm guessing then I didn't use it..sorry lol. I believe it was a 2" shutter. Thanks for the encouragement. I took those shots a few minutes after I talked to you.
By fill I just mean fill flash (I was a photojournalsit and freelancer long enough to still use lingo, sorry about that). Fill flash is just a very weak flash on a low setting generally used to overcome heavy contrast (like the shadows when shooting an object in front of a window in the daytime) and light up shadows. It's also good at night when there is almost enough ambient light for the shot but you don't want a really long exposure. Another use is to help color balance if your primary light source is something like incandescent light or flourescent light. This practice is also referred to as "a wink" of flash.

Your night shots are great - so what ever method you're using don't change it. Natural existing light is almost always the best way to go!

Thanks, I don't know if I have a "fill flash" but I have tried simply turning on the flash and shutter together when it is too dark even with a very long shutter but it always comes out like crap because the flash doesn't travel far enough...though I've never tried it for close up shots like that.

If it's a simple on camera flash it wouldn't work well anyway. The flash would completely wash out the photo and give you tons of glare. Your natural light exposures are great!!

Still small. My craptop is 1920 x 1200...

Maybe you can make them 1920x1440 and let the normal folks desktop resize it and I can chop yours for my wide screen....

@Thomas & Bearfoot:
Could you post your pictures in size 1280x1024? Or 1600x1200? They are beautiful but unfortunately too small to set them as a background of 17 inch LCD monitor. Thank you in advance.

P. S. I have already resized all pictures from Nikki's web and I must say that these are one my favorite BMW wallpapers
