Aren’t you worried about break in procedure before 1200 miles? I just thought it’s not supposed to redline before break in

No scratches - unless you let your wife hit the buttons with her diamond ring.
Before I start the car I give it a 30 second wipe with a dry microfibre cloth that I keep in the glove box and it looks nice and shiny all day.
Sometimes I don't even do that.

Wash your hands people! Just kidding, I love not just the look, but the feel when turning the ceramic iDrive knob. I tried it on a regular 5 series at the dealership. It has a nice heft to it and the clicks seemed more precise. Plus I I think it matches the black chrome trim around the interior. And it replaces the cheap plastic trim on the rear a/c controls as well as the cheap plastic knobs. Wish we could get that in the US.

In a way, we get short changed in the USA.
No factory passenger and rear window tint.
No option for factory sport exhaust.
No ceramic coated controls.
Etc....

However we don’t pay a 21% VAT either

that is a shame, no sports exhaust? why they force customers to buy the competition package! and its weird that the ceramic coated are not there!
