Hi, do have in your BMW's such information after engine start?

"full power shortly available"

It’s warming up - drive, just don’t rag it.

Or sit and wait - I find it therapeutic for the 20 seconds or so it takes to disappear.

I had first service in BMW with M5 and I thought it is related with obtaining full power and they missed something

If memory serves me right it says full iDrive power shortly available - meaning some iDrive functions are not immediately available, as the unit is still booting up.

You are joking... right?

The message has to do with the warming up of the catalyst - so they told me.

You also get a red and amber line on the rev counter when its warming up, stops you over revving when she is cold.

Never seen this on my '20 M5C--maybe this is a non-USA car message?

For some reason I thought it said iDrive, not Drive I guess I was wrong, I never really paid attention to it:

It could be OPF related if it’s not present on US cars.

It will not STOP you from reving to the real red line, its just a warning to 'let the car warm up.'

And I have never seen this message about full power not available.

I've never seen this and I've had the car parked over night at temps below -15C. Definitely have to let it warm up and the tachometer shows half the gauge as yellow for a decent amount of time, but no message.

Just to follow up, this is the dashboard message, which is repeated in iDrive.

It isn't temp related per-say, just the engine warming up from start - I get it each time in start the car, unless I've only been a very short time.
