Autotecknic Dry Carbon parts any good? (in terms of quality and fitting)
Hey guys, im in the process of acquiring F90 Pre Lci and was looking for Carbon fiber parts for it. On ind, autotecknic seems as good as others but price difference is quite a lot (autotecknic being almost half price compared to others). Just wanted to get an idea from people who might have purchased these before, how is the quality of these parts? Better to go for other brands like RKP or M performance or is autotecknic fine? in terms of fitment and quality. Thank you

Autotecknic should have excellent fit and quality. I don't have any of their parts so that's based on members feedback here. I can vouch for ******** though - I have some of their parts and the quality and fit is excellent. I also have M Performance parts and it's hard to tell the difference in weave, quality, fit.

Ya they're good. Had some issues on a steering wheel trim piece where the glue holding down the alcantara didn't hold and they replaced the item. No issues since.
Edit: spoke too soon. Just added another one of their steering wheel trim pieces. Specifically the back piece that goes behind the M1/2 buttons and it's fitment is awful! At first I assumed it was just a cover like their other interior trim pieces. But when I opened I was pleasantly surprised to see it was what I thought was an oem piece that they simply covered in carbon so I was expecting oem fitment. Well upon installing it isn't even close to oem. It's nearly a completely different shape. Some of the clips don't fit. Some guide holes I had to take a piece of string to pull up on while fitting because it was so deformed. Take a look.

I've looked at this part for many months on the IND website as I've run out of things to buy. I never could see a single other car with those installed so I assumed they either just didn't go well at all - or people weren't thrilled with it. Personally, the piano black trim is far more elegant IMO. And I for sure will be skipping over these pieces in any future order, as well as the CF shifter trim as none of it matches the interior or my F90. Its a pass for me! Good luck OP

I think all the higher end aftermarket CF is the same shit. I bet RW and Autotecnic is the same. I went RW, very happy with it.

Well got the replacement piece in and it's the same issue. I'm starting to wonder if their epoxy shrinks and causes the oem plastic sides to curl inward. The pics should demonstrate what I mean
They claim to never have received a complaint before. But I think they haven't sold many and those that got them just didn't care enough to complain.

With my CF trim pieces, I think this is exactly what's happening. The pieces seem to be distorted and because of that won't sit flush enough for the (in my case) double sided tape to hold down the pieces. Wouldn't be surprised if you're experiencing the same thing with their CF pieces. |

Overall happy with the fit of the interior pieces. Hoping they hold up. It's matches the other carbon bits on the car and flows better than the strange CF patterned aluminum it comes with.
