Best mods for a 2023 M5c ???

I just got a 2023 M5c . I am getting it wrapped in matte charcoal, full stealth PPF, gloss black door handles , gloss black powder coated rims, 5% ceramic tint, 50th anniversary Floating wheel caps and BMW CF performance spoiler.
I had to buy a car already in transit . Hence the powder coating the wheels. Cheaper than buying new black wheels.
I had a 2018 M760li with 180,000 miles. It was time to move on to something quicker.

I will drive 50,000 miles a year and I bought the 125,000 extended warranty. I don't want to void it if possible .

I need some advise on a few mods please:

1. Lowering springs- I love the look but need clearance for snow and don't want to scrape the ground. Would you get H&R?? Are their different H &R options for lowering springs?? Is there a better option from a different vendor that has a softer ride?? I do a lot of highway miles. I am adding 15mm front and 12mm rear spacers.

2. Exhaust- I love the sounds of the pops and burbles. I am getting Dinan x-pipes in 2 weeks. Is that a good improvement over stock to get better pops and burbles?? If that sound is not enough of an improvement, what is the next step without voiding the warranty?? I want the valve button to still work so my neighbors don't hate me. I currently have the stock m sport exhaust.

3. Sound System- I wanted the Bowers and Wilkins sound system but it came with the HK. Is there a better plug and play option?? I don't want to drill into the car.

Any other mod suggestions??

I appreciate all the advise,

1. F90 H&R springs will work just fine with the 15/12 spacers. M550i H&R are lower and also work with 15/12.

2. Try x pipe and see if enough if not try MPE; sounds significantly better than M-Sport and no warranty issues. No valves but just drive in comfort mode to mute it.

3. Bavsound - do search here.

Thanks for the response. What else would you recommend other than the MPE? It's very pricy and I have read mixed reviews. I also love driving in sport + and I want access to the valves. I have read the aftermarket exhaust would not be covered via warranty , but I hear the rarely if ever cause have warranty issues. I would roll the dice for better pops and burbles. Ca

Do you know the difference between the H&R M5 and M550i springs? Is one set lower? Is one more comfortable ??
Thanks in advance

That’s impressive with the amount of miles a year. I have a company car that I put on 60-90k a year. My M5 is my side fun car.

Rear reflector replacement from IND. The pictures are from my 2019 M5C but they transferred to my LCI 2022 M5C without issue - same fitment.

I would see if you like the Dinan X-pipe and go from there.

I have MPE on my current 22' M5C and love it … drive in Sport + 99% and it really sounds amazing.

On my 19' M5C I had an iPE cat-back and really loved that as well and it has valve-control if that's something you want. I will say I hardly ever used this feature as you can avoid the pops and burbles on your own based on where you shift + gas peddle.

Either way, agree not a warranty concern for me at all.

HR 550's are lower than the F90 HR's .. gone the 550i route on both the 19' and the 22' with zero issues. I can't speak for the F90 version as I wanted something lower than that set offers.

Here are some pics of my car on HR 550's and MPE.

RE: upgrading the HK, check out BavSound. I have used their plug and play under seat Ghost subwoofer kit in both of my M5s spec'd with HK. On my pre-LCI, the whole system still left a lot to be desired, but in my LCI, pairing it with the (rest of the speakers) stock audio, omit sounds pretty good. Start there, give it time to break in, and if you still don't like it, they have a kit to change out every single one of the remaining speakers. I swear by them and have recommended them to many on this forum. The sub install is easy, uses all the existing enclosures, and requires no modification whatsoever. If you're not satisfied, they have a 100 day no questions asked return policy.

Now I have a question for you about the heritage floating center caps! Did you order them from BimmerPlug?

EDIT — "it" sounds pretty good!

Thanks for the feedback on the Bavsound! I will get them installed. I did do the heritage floating wheel caps. They are on order. Great suggestion!!!

I am also wrapping the front and rear reflectors as well as CF steering wheel bracket, paddle shifters and gear shifter. Adding a BMC air filter and deleting the carbon filters.

Any other suggestions that don't void the engine warranty??

You're welcome! In the interest of complete disclosure, I should have mentioned before that Rockford Fosgate, a company with significantly more experience in the car audio space obviously, makes a plug and play as well. But I have no experience with it at all because I started with BavSound and it worked out great in the end. It may be worth looking into though.

Sounds like a great start on the mods. I'd recommend a RaceChip GTS Black as a no brainer. Many on here have it, whether it's the one mod to their car, or whether they have elaborate builds. There is some debate here, especially as of recent, as to whether these are detectable or not. Remove it completely before you go in for dealership service and you should be fine. In my opinion, it's the least detectable (and virtually undetectable) unless they really start poking around, and for nearly all, they go undetected. Ben @ r33_RGSport is the go to guy for all things RaceChip (and probably anything else you need) on this forum.

I think you'd be the first on the forum to get the center caps, as I had started a thread about them previously. Haven't heard back from the one other member who replied who ordered them. Please share them with us when you receive them! There are a few of us here interested. I've been weary to purchase as BimmerPlug doesn't accept returns, and I am not sure if they're the same quality as BMW's OE floating center caps.

Welcome to the forum!

I appreciate all the advise,
RE: upgrading the HK, check out BavSound.

In my opinion, it's the least detectable (and virtually undetectable) unless they really start poking around, and for most, they go undetected.

Thanks for the great advise and recommendations. I was trying to reach out to Ben , but it won't allow me to PM ??? Said I not logged in, but I am ??

Will a tune affect the longevity of the motor? I will put on 125,000 miles in 2.5 years. Any concerns?? I am more a 0-60 guy and less a track guy.
Your account is likely too new to have PM functionality, here is his website: https://www.rgsportshop.com

I highly doubt a minimally aggressive piggyback device like the RaceChip will cause issues at 125,000 miles but admittedly, I have no data or evidence to back that up, and there are definitely many more qualified people here than me suited to speak correctly on this. We haven't seen that high of a mileage F90 on here at all, so we don't even know what issues will arise with a stock car at that point, let alone with the RC.

With that being said, these devices are significantly less intrusive than full tunes, and based on all their marketing and our collective anecdotal experience, seem to keep within safe parameters that should not cause long term engine issues. Ben will give you honest answers to all of your questions and great advice!

Try AWE Switchpath exhaust. Wakes up the car a bunch.

Clutch timing on the reply! Thank you so much! I called them today and they told me they expect to get a shipment on Tuesday. Can't wait to see pics!

Did you have the BMW OE ones on your M760? Are they of similar quality?
