What to do with Stock Competition M Sport Exhaust?

Just ordered the M Performance Exhaust for my 2020 Competition. Any ideas on what to do with the stock M Sport Exhaust?

I don’t want to keep it. Should I sell it? Is it even worth anything?

If not, anyone in the Salt Lake City area can probably have it for free. Never driven in snow or rain and my ride only has 3.5k miles on it.

Why not keep it and when you sell/trade the car put the old one back on and sell the M performance one on this forum. Ballache but rather than throwing cash away!

I don’t feel like holding onto the stock exhaust and having it take up my storage space. If I sell or trade the car down the road, no big deal. I’ve wasted more money on less I think.

I replaced my stock exhaust (18 M5) with a Remus cat back. Out of curiosity I wanted to know what Carvana and Vroom would offer me for my car this past summer. Both of them wanted me to replace the aftermarket exhaust with the stock exhaust if I were to sell them my car. I never did sell the car to them but just wanted to know what they would give me for it. I did keep the stock exhaust and placed it against the wall in my garage. I did the install of the exhaust system myself inside my garage, so I did not have to worry about transporting it anywhere.

I’m not too worried about it. This is one of my cars I don’t plan on selling, unless someone buys it for crazy money. In any case, it’s not like when you order an M5 with the MPE installed at the port the dealer gives you the stock exhaust to take home with the spare key.

Is this different then my 2021 M5 non comp exhaust?
Or does it fit my car?
I have primary and secondary down catless down pipes now with the stock exhaust

Yes, it’s different. The Comp has the “M Sport Exhaust.” It should mate up without issue.

I think the only difference on MSport is the black chrome tips, sound and look wise there really isn't any difference to be heard or seen.

The stock one has mid and rear section wielded together as one piece, it's such a PIA to transport and store.

The front muffler on the Msport exhaust is the only difference
The rear muffler is the same just with black tips
The front muffler difference is only spotted if you look inside it and the difference is it has less perforation compared to the non comp muffler so little louder but other then that it is almost identical

Probably. Also, the stock system is one large piece not worth keeping or shipping. If anyone wants the black tips just let me know. Pay shipping/packaging and it’s yours.

I have aftermarket exhaust on order as well. But I'm keeping stock exhaust just in case I resell in the future. The thing about these cars is they sell for more money with stock components. After market items only cause hiccups on resale unless you find that needle in a haystack buyer that really really wants it.

Like the member above said, on the wall mine is going.

But dont forget that you still get more pops and bangs in the competition package given it is programmed in the ecu

Make me an offer for whatever you think they are worth with shipping included and I’ll probably accept it.
