JB4 fuel failsafe?
Planning on running my Jb4 on the 93 map. Unfortunately only have 91/100 oct here in Vegas. Normally I’ll be running a 70/30 mix. Other times if I’m not near a 100oct station, I’m planning on using royal purple octane booster.
My question is how much risk am I taking by not running a true 93oct? Will JB4 kill power if it starts to detect knock? Also curious if the 70/30 mix is even necessary or will the octane booster do enough to safely run that map |

We do have E85 in Vegas, I use Rebel on Tropicana and Jones
the Jb4 does not have failsafe for knocking, the Jb4 failsafe is for over boosting and running lean

If you bought the WiFi adapter you can easily change maps with your phone when you change octane or cannot refill with the octane required for the current map.
You can get to 93 octane and E30 octane a few different ways. 91/100 mix, 91/E85 mix, 91/octane booster or 91/meth injection. The first two are preferable. The better octane boosters may leave an orange residue that would tip off investigators in a warranty claim if that is an issue. |

I see there is an e30 tune but nothing for E85. If I were to mix e85 & 91, what would be the correct ratio and on what map would you recommend me running? |

Note E85 has 85% ethanol; the regular fuel has 10% ethanol. if you are using an E30 map, you want the total to be E30 3.5 gallons of E85 and 10 gallons of 91 will get you this mix ((3.5*.85 + .1 * 10) / 13 = .30 or 2 gallons of E85 and 5 gallons of 91 unless you are constantly adding the same mix, make sure your fuel tank is empty for an accurate calculation

There is no real failsafe discussion with piggy backs, all the original thresholds are intact. If the ECU sees knock you are getting timing pulled, end of story. The nice thing about JB4 is you can plug in the OBD and see why and when.

Thanks for all the feedback. Going to do my best to figure out the correct mix. Needing to add in 100oct is already becoming a pita so the e85 mix is def what I’m going to adjust to I believe.
I have a connection with someone who will deliver a drum of e85 to my house if I’d like which I’m considering doing |
